What names do you love and for some reason couldnt use for your little ones??


I love Thomas (Tom) but our surnames are Cruz Cruse!! so I dont think so!!

For a girl I loved Bella (my sisters dog)
Lucia (loo thee ah) or ruth, but with our surnames it was too oo oo oo sounding.

My favourite girls name was Alba (Ali) but we called the cat it without thinking!!

My uncles old dog was called Bella, so when we told my parents we wanted Bella for short of Isabelle and not Izzy she kept saying it reminded her of the dog.

I dont think theres any names we liked that we couldnt really use that we liked. weve actually had our names chosen for years, lol

I love the name Rowan, but DH's last name is Roe, so that was thrown out pretty quickly. Kerrigan was high on my list, but dh was afraid people would shorten it to Kerri. We both individually selected Freja (fray-ya) as a middle name possibility, but decided it was too odd with the spelling. The last one I can think of is Sarella. I got that from a fiction book. I googled it to see the meaning and found out it is some star wars character name and decided not to name my kid after a scifi character.

We joked if we had a boy we'd name him after our grandfathers and he could be Harrison Richard or Harry Dick for short.

Jacob- Stephen (my stepson's) half brother
Andrew- Steve's Ex-gf's sons name

Ella- a girl at work's daughters name (maybe when I leave there)
Katherine- waaay too many in our family

Jackson we picked out to honor DH's late father; we chose it well before my half-brother was born and given that name. We couldn't use it because they're too close in age and live around the corner!

Mattea we both really like this name, but it is the name of a girl I used to nanny and I still have a little bit of contact with the family, plus now I'm not so sure it fits in our sibset.

I really wanted Isabella and call her Izzy, but with Grey's on TV and plus it is sooooo popular we decided against it. We were really torn between Paige Catherine or Baily Rene (I think if we have another girl we will name her Bailey Rene!!)

It was good we didn't have a boy because we couldn't decide at all! DH is stuck on the name Chase (but my good friend's dog is Chase and I just couldn't do that) and I really wanted Peyton for a boy, but now my friend who had a girl 5 days before me stole that name so we can't use that!

I've always loved Isabella and Isabelle... I used to watch Days of our Lives - love Belle!

There are so many now - especially w/ Gray's & with Twilight!!

Delaney or Laney--it rhymes with our last name
Miller, Grant, Cooper, etc--overruled because my DH was convinced they were 'last names' and therefore weren't appropriate
Ella--can't have Ella and Elliott

DH is stuck on Dylan Alexander for a boy. . . but I knew a pretty obnoxious little boy named Dylan when I worked at school. . .so that was out for me.

I know there are many more, but can't think of them now. . . it's lucky we ever agreed on Elliott!

Ooooh I have so many!! I was so dead set on Aidan before SATC created an explosion of Aidans nationwide. B) My other favorite boy name was Milo, which DH nixed. Jackson I also love, but that's my cousin's son's name. Also Taylor was on my boy list before I married DH... whose last name is Taylor!

For girls: Annabella was always a favorite, but of course now with Twilight, Bellas are everywhere, and I also nannied for an Annabella (I can't give any of my kids the same name as kids I nanny for... just because it feels like stealing! ) So I named my cat Luca Bella to satisfy my love for Bellas. I reeeeeeeeeeeally wanted to use Elizabeth as a middle name, but of course due to our last name, I can't.
