I was officially diagnosed with Lupus today. I had blood work done last friday and had tons of abnormalities. I have to go to a Rheumatologist (sp?) as soon as they can get me an appointment.
I am really depressed over this.  I am really in a lot of pain and feel HORRID, so I guess in a way it is nice to KNOW what is going on... but I was really hoping I didn't have Lupus.
Lauren, did you ever go to a Rheumatologist? What was it like?

I'm so sorry you feel awful. Not having Lupus myself, I can't begin to imagine how stressful that must be with a baby. I hope the specialist can help some and get you feeling a little more like your old self soon. It's not easy to get a diagnosis like that.

Lauren I had been wondering about you. I'm so sorry you had to get a diagnosis like that, but like you said at least now you know. I wish I had some advice for ya. I'm sending you my prayers and ((((((((HUGS))))))))))

I'm so sorry you ended up with a diagnosis of lupus. The good news is that now you can start treating it appropriately, and you should get some relief.
I see a rheumatologist exclusively. He's now my primary care physician. They specialize in joints and have the most knowledge of lupus than any other doctors. I'm sure you will be in good hands.

Lauren, I am so sorry you are dealing with this. I have a dear, dear friend who has rheumatoid arthritis and sees a rheumatologist. She receives an infusion every 8 weeks and has REMARKABLE results. If you didn't know better, you wouldn't know she has it. I know not everyone has the same results and you're dealing with a different (but related) disease, but there can be really great results.
