Sorry I havent been about properly girls. when I do manage to reply to posts im usually typing with my pinky finger on my left hand (and Im right handed) so thats why my answers are usually short.
Anyway last week I developed a blocked milk duct under my arm, only small, i tried all the suggest things, hot baths/showers, cabbage leaves, massage, hot compress, constant nursing in all sorts of positions, couldnt get rid of it.
Friday night it turned into mastitis. I really should have made an appointment with the gp for some antibiotics Friday arvo but me being stubborn didnt bother. Stupid me, Friday night I was feverish, vomiting, couldnt keep water down, poor DF had to look after me while I was still trying to nurse Bella, longest night of my life. I was better Saturday and Sunday but not 100% Monday got some antibiotics but by then it had gotten bigger and was PAINFUL
Went back to the gp on Tues as Bella had her first jabs, we decided it was best I get it drained as it had turned into an abcess. I just assumed they would numb the area drain it and send me home from the hospital, nope. They had to put me under general anesthetic and drain it and theyve left it open to heal from the inside out. going to take a few weeks
Moral of the story, dont be stupid and stubborn like me, got to the doctors and get rid of it straight away if possible. Ive had enough of surgeries bleh.
