For the past 3 days I've had HORRIBLE itching all over my body. My hands, feet, legs, tummy, boobs, head, back, legs, EVERYWHERE. I decided to google it this morning and am really worried about pregnancy cholestasis. Cholestasis of Pregnancy : American Pregnancy Association I never even knew it existed until about 30 minutes ago, and am going to see my Dr. at 1:00 today. It's where the bile in the galbladder gets built up due to the high amt. of pregnancy hormones, and can be fatal to the baby. Does ANYONE have experience with this???

OMG I've never heard of that. I remember being itchy close to the end too, but not uncontrollable like you are describing. I think Toni (xanda101) had bad itching if I remember correctly. Please KUP on your appointment and I will be praying for ya sweetie.

I've heard of this, and my doctor had some concern that I had it in my first trimester (though extremely rare), because I was really itchy too. I was told that it usually happens in the 2nd and 3rd trimester and usually the person won't have a rash associated with the itching, unlike PUPPS and other pregnancy related rashes. If your doctor blows it off as something else, I would stress that I wanted bloodwork (to check for liver function, bile salts, etc), because it is serious.

You're definately doing the right thing by being proactive and getting seen right away - make sure you keep us posted!

Thanks so much ladies! I went in this afternoon and my Dr. suspected it could be Cholestasis. She ruled out PUPP (I have no rash) and I had my blood drawn to test my liver function levels. Have to get more blood taken in the am after I fast tonight. If I test positive for it they will monitor me and my levels every week and induce me between 37-38 weeks. I will keep you all posted!

I can't offer personal insight or anything, but do you have any of the other symptoms besides the itching? (Dark urine, etc.?) IGlad everything looks good so far, let us know!

I was going to ask about the other symptoms, too. I had awful uncontrollable itching as well, but not any of the other symptoms. It was just a crazy annoying pregnancy thing. I hope it's the same for you, it's scary to think it may be something more! KUP, I'll be thinking about you.
