We got some random stuff we didn't register for like a bottle holder thing for our dish washer. The bottles we have don't fit in it well and we can only get 2 in there. The thing doesn't fit in our dish washer well, so we've never used it.
We registered for a twin PNP. We use it, but the girls are happier being next to each other instead of each in one of the bassinets. I wish we'd just gone with a normal PNP.
We got a lot of really ugly clothes without gift receipts.
Besides that, we've used pretty much everything. One thing we didn't register for, but someone gave us is car mirrors so we can see the kiddos while driving. Eiley in particular loves to scream in the car. It's nice to be able to see her and know if there is a reason why. One of my sister's friends didn't have those and her infant had a seizure and was turning blue in the car. Her 3 year old saw him and told her mom that her little bro was blue. It was just a random thing, nothing is wrong with him, but without her toddler I don't know what would have happened.

I'm horrible though because I saved all of them (whatever wouldn't get me store credit) and will be regifting them
All of my other gifts came from my baby registry.. Oh, and I got a LOT of blankets. It's ridiculous.

I think the only thing I didn't use was the mosquito netting for the stroller, and that's only because I always forgot it at home. It would have come in handy a few times! I try to use what people give me, since they took the time to pick it out for me. We didn't get any ugly clothes.

I forgot to put this earlier. We had to talk my MIL out of buying us $500 high chairs. In a nice way, we told her there were a lot of other great things she could do with the $1000 and the $50 chairs we registered for would work for us. The ones she wanted to get were cute, but we'd much rather have that $ toward their education.

sorry that just made me laugh, not sure why, lol
i didnt have a shower and despite telling ppl not to buy us anything as they know were moving to Oz next month, we are only allowed limited luggage in our case and arent shipping much, we would have to get rid of most of it, she still managed to get plently of clothes, most of which we have to ship as they wont fit her for ages and so many soft toys . we did get vouchers which was good and quite a few nappies and wipes.

The only things we got that we didn't use were:
-Johnson's baby bath stuff....we prefer and only want to use organic/natural products for ourselves and children. so that was never used.
-a bottle warmer and sterilizer- had no need and wouldn't use them, so we returned them.

I never really used receiving blankets. I only swaddled for a short time, Tori was always so wiggly and I could never get the swaddle tight enough.

I second the bottle washer things! We don't use them at all! We got A LOT of blankets and don't use half of them! You really only need a few warm/light/receiving blankets!! We got several of the same onesies so I had to return them. I feel like everyone tried to buy the small things, like clothes (OMG did we get a lot of clothes) and no one went together to get the big things like the swing we needed. Also, people always want to buy for THAT season in SMALL sizes and now I'm having to buy bigger, warmer clothes because it's getting cold. That's all I can think of right now!
That would be a funny thread Valerie...who has the most random outfit!!

Honestly.... we haven't hardly used our pack in play. It sits in the closet. We also got 4 grooming kits, a TON of bath supplies, 32 washclothes, a TON of blankets... and yes, some really ugly outfits..... it was hard because we didn't know what we were having. I ditto Gwen.... I would rather have people chip in and buy us something bigger than a bunch of small stuff that we may not use.

I didnt really get many things bought, mainly people gave us the money to buy something we needed, so we just took photos and sent them showing what they had bought us.
I did get a microwave steriliser that wont fit in our microwave, but I´ve never sterilised anything as she is still bf.
I borrowed a travel system, but I put the carseat on the wheels maybe 3 times, I much preferred the pram body.
People did buy us clothes, but the wrong size for the season, snowsuits that would fit in July or frilly summer dresses for November! which is lucky as some of the things were so awful it would be too embarrassing to even regift them!!.
Apart from that, and so many pink things, where is it written that girls need EVERYTHING from bottles to bath tubs in pink??

OMG i hate pink, ok well i dont hate it but i certainly dont like it very much unlless its a nice item of clothing. here i see loads of babies/toddlers in complete pink outfits in a bright pink stroller, ahhh, i dont like that. ,maybe im just weird i dunno.
Valerie that would be a really funny thread
oh and when i was pregnant MIL asked about a sterilizer as she wanted to get us something but i said i didnt need it as i was b/f. im glad she asked as theres no way it would be used.

wanting to avoid getting ALL pink or blue gifts is half the reason we don't want to know the gender! people get sooo caught up in the gender that they forget about practicality!

I'm probably not the norm here, but we really could have gone without our big swing. I borrowed a boppy swing from my sister for when I was in the shower - and it's much more portable.

You girls are funny! If I had a girl, she would be in pink all the time. Complete with giant hairbows! Everyone is different and has different tastes. Usually people buy what they would like. So many times it's totally not what we would choose!
Hmmmm... things we didn't use? A ton of bath products (he needs more sensitive ones than Johnson and Johnson), a ton of washcloths (we use softer ones from Goodmama Diapers), bathrobes, tons of clothes for the wrong season, and quite a few blankets. I try to rotate and use the blankets, but I put a few aside with the tags still on for the next baby.
