Update!! -LONG

Thanks so much Lyz for updating for me! Friday was definitely a huge surprise for us!! We had our growth scan to see if the baby had improved any with me on bed rest and he had not. This time he was measuring about 4lbs 7 oz, putting him below the 10th percentile. We were very worried and the dr. said we'd probably be scheduling the c/s for around 39 weeks. Then, I had my bp re-check. It was absolutely through the roof. They immediately sent me up to L&D to be monitored for a few hrs. Still, we thought we'd be going home in a few hrs. While I was in L&D my bp continued to increase and I started having contractions about 3-5 minutes apart.

Our dr. came in about 45 minutes later and told us to go ahead and prepare for having the c/s that day!! We were absolutely in total shock! Poor DH had worked the night before and hadn't been to sleep yet and none of our family even had time to make it there! Everything happened incredibly fast! We got to L&d around 12 and had a baby around 3! Although it happened very fast I was surprisingly calm and knew we were doing the right thing. The c/s wasn't half as bad as I had imagined. During surgery the dr. shouted out to me that my placenta looked "really crummy" and that she would sleep better tonight knowing we'd done the surgery. I was diagnosed with severe atypical pre-eclampsia and she said it was as though my poor little baby was trying to get his nutrients through a coffee straw. No wonder the poor fella was so tiny!!

Kylar Nicholas came out kicking and screaming at 3:06 pm on October 30th weighing 4 lbs and 9 oz and 18 inches long. He is such a tiny little thing but PERFECT in every way! He was fully able to maintain his body temperature, was never on any oxygen and has yet to need any assistance. He is breastfeeding like a pro! They did initially have to give his some sugar water to even out his levels right after birth but other than that, he's just been nursing.

The first 24 hrs I was on Mag Sulfate (aka- DEATH). It was pretty horrible! I felt like I had the flu and was sweating and hot and just miserable but luckily the effects wore off pretty quickly. My pressures ended up going down on the mag and I was able to come off of it. I am feeling much much better. The incision is a tiny bit painful but I've been up moving around and keeping up with my meds. My milk finally came in and HOLY MOLY- my boobs are huge

DH is amazed! I feel so incredibly lucky and we are SO SO SO in love

He's perfect and all of the silly concerns I had before seem so petty. I couldn't be more thankful! Thanks for all of the thoughts, prayers and well wishes. Both baby and I will be home tomorrow and I hope to have alittle more JM time!

I'm so glad that they were monitoring you so closely and able to get that beautiful little boy out of there safely!! Wow!! What an eventful day - but hooray for your little PUMPKIN baby

PS-You are absolutely glowing in those pics, even though I'm sure at the time, you were going through so much!

congrats! nothing like the unexpected hey! hes lovely. you ,may find the football hold quite good for nurssing seeing as hes diddy. I did that with Bella the first few weeks as she seemed to tiny and it almost seemed a 'foolproof' position, it took us a while to get used to stomach to stomach.

I'm SO glad you updated us!!! That must have been crazy going in for a Dr. apt and ending up delivering your son the same day!!! That's wonderful he's doing so well, and breastfeeding like a pro!!!! Congrats again to you both!!!!! He's absolutely precious!
