Interesting info on bleeding / spotting

I have a blood clot that formed at the top of my uterus, outside the sac. The tech said that it is quite common when the embryo burrows into the lining it bleeds but instead of releasing it will form a small clot and depending on where the clot is, it can pass.

Since mine is up at the top, there is a good chance it will not come out. It will have no effect on the pregnancy. But she said that it is a common cause of bleeding in early pregnancy - but if you don't know you have one it can be a bit concerning.

Just wanted to pass that along cause it was something that was new information to me.

Does this mean that you had your appointment - did you get an U/S??

Yes, I did. I was starting to wonder but there is a little baby inside there

It was the best feeling in the world to see that!!! Everything went great...there is that clot, but it won't cause cause problems or harm the pregnancy.

And, at least you are prepared so that if there is a little bleed, you'll know that it will be ok...

This is the only picture I have, but it didn't scan well and I don't know how to adjust it. It is so much clearer on the ultrasound picture. DH's mom even commented (on the original picture) that no explanation was necessary - you could tell head from the rump.
