Hi girls! I wanted to get some opinions on our upcoming holiday travel. We are going down to Texas the first of December to visit my family & then on to Missouri to visit the husband's family and we were planning to drive down because I'm worried about airport germs and sickness.

Ashlynn will be just about 2months old when we make our trip. She will get her 2month vaccinations a little early at the end of November. I am currently Breastfeeding and that is going great so I'm not worried about her ears popping or feeding her during a flight. I just worry about her immune system not being fully developed. I read their immune system isn't fully developed until 6 months.

The drive down to Texas is a 24hr drive. So we would split it over 3 days (driving 8 hrs a day not including stops to change her diaper and for me to burp her. I am going to pump so we don't have to pull over to feed her.

So out of the 15days we have off, 6 of that would be travelligng unless we make it 12 hr days.

Hey April!!
When Z was 2 months we drove from CA to TX and FL and back. We wish we flew because it would have been quicker and cheaper- no food, no gas, no hotel, etc. We drove 8 hours a day and Zane could only handle about being 6 at a time so it was hard for us. He's BF'd so I would pump in the car so we wouldn't have to stop every 2 hours to feed him, but he wouldnt' take the bottle so we had to stop every 2 hours for 20 minutes so it took longer than expected. (You wouldn't want to drive 12 hours believe me!! Doing 8 was hard enough.) I would say fly, especially if she's BF'd she'll have antibodies to germs and what not. Carry her in a sling so no one can touch her. If you flew you'd have more time to visit family or be together Good luck either way you choose! I'm sure you would manage and been fine either way!
