Idk what happened with my other two posts but its not going through for some reason? Anyway...

For the ladies that have dopplers...

I'm confused... i'm pretty sure i've been hearing the HB with no trouble for a couple of weeks now, however the last couple of times i've tried i'm pretty sure its been picking up my HB too? I hear a heavy thump thump and then the whoosh whoosh sound also that i have been assuming is the baby this whole time. That is the baby right? it sounds like one of those womb bears (lol) so i assumed thats what it was... I dont always hear the heavy thump, just lately... again i'm fairly sure this is my HB since it feels like its going at the same pace as my own heart obviously. I can usually find baby about an inch or two below my belly button slightly on the left side, i've also heard that if you go too far on the left then you DO pick up your own heartbeat... aaah

Is it possible to hear both of us at the same time? I'm suddenly freaked out that i've been hearing my own heartbeat this whole time and it hasnt actually been baby! (though the two sounds are totally different so hopefully i'm worrying for nothing?) Ack!

Yes, it is very possible to hear your HB at the same time. The biggest difference between you and the baby's HB, is that your baby's would be quite a bit faster. To measure your baby's HB, count it for 15 seconds then multiply that number by 4. As your blood volume increases throughout your pregnancy, you will probably be able to feel/hear your pulse all over your body.

Yea - what Andrea said...
Baby's heartbeat is significantly faster than yours (like double) - that's how I can always tell the difference...

Of course lately, I can always tell cause baby has taken to kicking me every time I put the doppler on him...its so funny

What they said! If you don't have a doppler with the screen that reads the HB, do what Andrea said. Mine HR is like 70 but the babies is usually in the 150s.

I know the website that I rented mine from had sample sounds too, you can always google that and see if you're hearing the same thing.
