Who is with me??? Gwen has inspired me to eat better and get back into shape. I am not saying we will end up looking as hot as Gwen... but who is gonna do this with me? I need some weight loss buddies here!

I'm with ya!!!! I want to lose the last 10 pounds of pregnancy weight, and would like to take off another 30 pounds on top of that. I was about 30 pounds overweight when I got pregnant. I can't afford a personal trainer...and with Jeff's work schedule I don't have the time to be at a gym all the time..but I can eat healthier and incorporate more physical activity into my every day life....
Count me in!

Shanna, I am not going with a personal trainer either.... but I figure stair stepping, fast paced walking and some running to get my heart rate up will get things going. PLUS we do have birthing balls that we can use for exercising!

Meh. I should, but I am so lazy
I saw one of our neighbors whose child is a few months older then Jack walking around outside today. I felt slightly guilty. Yesterday I had Jack in his moby and walked to the shed in our backyard and back. Dustin then asked me if I was taking him for a walk. Hello! That was my walk!
I really should though. I should post some pics of me right now on my blog for motivation to get back in shape. Are you all doing pics?

I'm sooooo glad that I have motivated you guys!!! It IS very hard work, but I tell you it's totally worth it. Now I don't claim to be any expert on any of this, but I know what worked for me and have learned a lot so I'm here to help with any questions you might have. Eat healthy and start doing cardio like crazy!!!!!! I would definitely suggest taking some before pics...it sucks looking at them, but just take them and put them away and only look when you need more motivation. Weigh in ONLY every 2 weeks....other than that PUT THE SCALE AWAY!!! Your weight can flucutate so much and that will effect your mind. Try to get your body fat checked...you can order calipers online for pretty cheap then google body fat calculator and plug in your numbers and walah...you have your body fat.
Shanna....its harder and harder for me to get to the gym with her and DH's schedule so yesterday I did an entire workout at home....and my legs are super sore today and I was sweating up a storm. I even incorportated Paige in it. I had to do leg extensions (and I don't have any weights at home) so I figured she's about 15lbs so I put her on the middle of one of my shins and sat down and just extended my leg for 20 reps...she loved it and I got a workout. Then switched her to the other leg!! For cardio at home I would run in place for 2 minutes, do mountain climbers for 2 minutes or jumping jacks for 2 minutes....it is possible!!!!

I'm in!! I want to lose the last 5lbs of my pre-pregnancy weight plus 10 pounds on top of that (at least). I actually have decided earlier in the week to start it tomorrow as I'll be 4 weeks PP and able to do more things. I'm not going to do abs or running yet though as I want to get clearance from my doc in 2 weeks but I can start walking with the baby, doing low impact workouts and eating better until then.

I'm in. I don't have much weight to lose, but I have a ton of toning to do. The twins have left me with a wonderful little tire up front. I was doing awesome and then went on vacation and spent a week drinking beer and eating ice cream instead of working out and eating well. It was fun, but it's time to stop that kind of stuff and get serious.

Gwen, thanks so much...what is a typical work-out for you? What tips did your trainer give you?
Toni...great idea with the ball. I'll try to find the DVD that came with it and get on that. Camryn LOVES to watch me dance, so maybe I could do more of that in front of her too. She also loves to dance...so I'm thinking the Bjorn, squats and dancing with her hooked up to me. Thats almost an extra 20 pounds...yes..she's almost 19 pounds! hahaha

Meh. I'm on this. . . in my heart. I need to lose, oh I don't know, about 50 pounds? I HATE the way I look now. Finding time to work-out is the kicker for me right now. Well, really, it's finding motivation because know I can get up early and work-out before E gets up. It's getting my tooshie out of bed that's getting in the way.

Yeah I'm still working on losing the remaining 10 pg lbs plus I have another 20-30 on top of that. I had gained about 15lbs 4 months before I got pregnant then gained 62lbs during my pregnancy. I lost 50 but the rest just doesn't want to go anywhere. I've still got my c-section gut & zero motivation. I was super strict with my diet for a while & lost a whopping 4lbs so I know I need to work out. I'm just so darn tired! i.e. Last night dh & I didn't go to bed till 1am because we were up folding laundry & doing stuff around the house. We went to bed & Allie woke up as soon as our heads hit the pillow. She was up for 30-60 mins at a clip until 5:30 am when I finally got her settled on my chest. Then I was up at 7. I think I got 2 hours of broken sleep. If someone asked me to go to the gym right now I think I'd laugh in their face
DH's work schedule (2 jobs...1 an overnighter 2-3x week) doesn't make it any easier as I have to be home early on those nights so he can get a couple hours of sleep before going to his night job.
There's a new gym opening near us in January. It's affordable & open 24 hours so I think we're going to sign up. Plus I was considering doing a pay as you go Weight Watchers. The weight ain't gonna come off just from me thinking about it so I need to make it happen. I have such a bad self image right now.

Melissa, I love Weight Watchers. Before I got pregnant I lost 30 pounds on that program. I think the weighing in every week keeps you motivated. It's pretty easy to follow too because you can pretty much eat anything you just have to watch your point count.

That's really great to know & congrats! I did want to go weekly, but I'm not sure we can afford for both DH & I (he needs to lose about 30 also) to go as well as the gym...that'd be almost $200/month just between the 2. I thought if I did it once or twice a month, I could still get the benefits...hopefully.
I've always heard such good things about it. We had it here at work but I was out on maternity leave. By the time I came back my coworkers had lost a bunch of weight & I guess didn't "need" it anymore so the program stopped. What a bummer because that would've been perfect for me. It was like $120 for 17 weeks!

Melissa and Courtney, I hear you on the whole tired thing. Kerrigan wakes up every two hours still. I tried cereal again with her and it just gives her really bad gas. We've also tried formula, but that hasn't helped either... and I think it's giving her a diaper rash. So I am getting no sleep.
However things are going good. Today is day 2! I ran up and down my driveway after dark last night. LOL I also have a Tahitian Cardio workout video (hula dancing) that I did for a little bit last night. Today I slept ALOT so now I have to try to fit in my workout here at work. I will probably do stairs. I dunno. Oh and I still have to take before pics.

so are we going to have an ongoing thread? We can talk about eating better there, or the workouts we are doing. Heck, even taking a walk or using the baby as a weight is something!
Well I guess this can be an ongoing thread, right? This weekend I found my workout clothes. That's something! I think I will take some before pics and post them on my blog today or tomorrow. I have about 10-15 pounds to lose to be back to my pre-pregnancy weight, and a lot of toning too. I have a mom and baby workout dvd and I think I will start with that b/c I too am scrambling to have the time and be organized about it. We can do it!!!

Count me in! I have a really negative self image right now. I have anywhere from 10-14lbs to lose, depending on the day. And a lot of toning to do! I joined a gym by my house, but DH goes every day, which leaves me with little time to go. I just need to get serious about that and my diet!
OH- ETA I am sitting here eating a bag of Bugles as I am typing this! UGH!

This might be helpful to you all: Calorie Counter Database - Free Online Diet Program
Check it out, it not only helps you count your calories, but gives you "grades" for the foods that you are eating. Things that I thought were healthy for me.... were not as healthy as I thought.
I also went to walmart and bought a food scale for $5.
