What an awful night yesterday! I went to the Montréal, about an hour away from home to pick-up my mother at the Airport with my father. Once we got there I was having some pretty strong Braxton Hicks, I figured because I felt like I had trapped gas that it hurt or because I was hungry, I really couldn't tell. This is my first so everything is new to me and I don't know what to expect. We decided to eat diner at the Airport restaurant while waiting for her to land and go through customs. We actually ate quite quickly because I was hungry and she landed early. After diner we were waiting for her to come through the gates it took approximately 30 minutes and I started feeling hot and sweaty. My mom and her friend finally came through the gates, and then I really started feeling sick to my stomach. I decided to go outside but two people showed up next to me and started smoking that just made me feel worse. I was on my way back into the airport and I got really weak and started to see black. I was certain I was going to pass out right there but I made it to a bench and I laid down on it. I had everyone panicing around me I was all sweaty and I asked my mother to poor some cold water on me. The airport first aid security showed up quickly and took my blood pressure, it was low. I was starting to feel a bit better still dizzy and weak though when the ambulance showed up. This was SOOOOO embarassing. The paramedics took my blood pressure again and asked me a million questions and even took my blood sugar which was 4.7. I had to take the friggen ambulance to the nearest hospital with a maternity. Once I get there they took my vitals and because I they were stable they asked me to go sit in the waiting room. I couldn't believe it even the paramedics were suprised. It was the absolute worst hospital I've ever been too (I've only been to three including this one but still). I wasn't going to sit there for 12 hours and make my parents and my mom's friend who just got back from a full day of travelling, wait there with me. I just wanted to go home, so I left. I feel better today except I woke up with braxton hicks contraxs that made me worry because they seemed to be at constant intervals so I waited it out and it stopped. So I guess tomorrow I'm going to call the doctors office to see if I can see her sooner than December 5th. The paramedic thinks I have hypotension and I really would like to know what caused this and if everything is ok. Shouldn't they have brought me to the maternity ward immediately to be monitored especially, at 30 weeks? They didn't even do anything for me, I can't believe it. I'm sorry if this is long, I just wonder what everyone else thinks should have been done?

That is ridiculous. If you were passing out and brought in on an ambulance, it is irresponsible of them to dump you in the waiting room and not monitor/test you I'm glad you're feeling a little better, and hope your doc can help

I'm glad you're feeling better, but at 30 weeks I'm really surprised they were not monitoring you more closely. I would be very upset! Hope your doc can give you a little insight into what happened.

Ugh, that's terrible they just left you in the waiting room at 30 weeks! I'm glad you are feeling better today. Definitely hope your doctor can see you earlier and shed some light on what happened. Hugs! KUP on how things go with the doctor.

My doctor's office opens at 9, I will call them right away and try to see if I can at least talk to my Doctor if not see her. I will KUP though. The more I think about this, the more I'm upset and worried.

That's crazy pants! They should have hooked you up to a monitor and also given you fluids, not sent you to the waiting room!! Well anyway, glad you're home and feeling better - let us know what your Dr says

Well even my doctor won't see me earlier than my scheduled appointment on Dec 7. Aparently it's normal, and not dangerous. The nurse also said that because it wasn't a problem with the baby ( ALthough no one ever checked the baby) that it's normal I wasn't sent to Labour and Delivery. I'm very annoyed with our medical services, I feel like I'm of no importance and that I am exagerating. I never call the docs office to complain or burden them with questions but this time I was sent off in an ambulence and still it's really NOTHING! The nurse said my doctor thinks I just had a shock of some sort and that it's not a big deal. That I should monitor how I feel. I told her this morning I started feeling the same way again even as I was talking to her I felt weak and she didn't seem bothered. She said if my doctor wants to see me they will call otherwise just wait it out. I guess I should just be relieved that it's not dangerous, instead of being upset.

I would be upset too! I'm glad it's not anything serious, but I'm really surprised they didn't do more.

I am glad it is nothing serious as well...but it just seems odd to me...mind you, this is my first pregnancy, so it could be normal.

Oh my gosh!!! That's terrible!! I'm glad you're feeling better but if you are questioning anything don't be afraid to demand to see your doctor. If there is anything I've learned since being pregnant and then having Amelia here is that a mother's intuition is very strong. So don't let anyone push you around or make you feel like you're making a mountain out of a molehill. You're just trying to protect your baby and you're right to be annoyed to be made to feel like that. KUP! I hope you continue to feel better!

So far today I feel more like myself again, and I'm drinking loads of water which is helping alot. I also have to understand that I can't do as much as I did before, my body just can't. I'm trying to keep positive, William keeps moving alot and I haven't had any more fainting or black spots. Thank you all for you support though, it encourages me to think I'm not exagerating or overreacting for nothing. I have a good familly behind me as well, but knowing all you girls feel the same is just extra!!

I would be soooooo frustrated!!!! In our hospital where we work, they take everyone who is over 20 weeks pregnant to the maternity ward to make sure that the baby is ok. I'm soooo sorry that you are having to go through this. I wish they would be a little more concerned.
