Hi ladies. I am trying to figure out if I just lost part of my mucus plug. I noticed when I went to the bathroom that there was a long stringy white thing in the toilet (sorry, TMI) and then I started getting crampy. Do you think I lost part of my plug? What did your look like (if you noticed)?

Sounds like it to me!
The first time when I lost it at 21 weeks it looked like a HUGE glob of yellow/clear snot (like when you blow your nose....but a huge glob like half dollar glob size)
Second time when I lost it at 41 weeks after my MW stripped my membranes and stretched me my mucus plug was stringy, globbyish, brown and bloody tinged. I lost parts for about 2-3 days. I didn't go into labor until 4-5 days after the start of loosing it.

I never lost mine that I noticed prior to labor, so I'm no help. I hope that you're right about what you so and that baby is on it's way very soon!

Sounds like the start of it. There is a lot..I agree. You'll be surprised! At first it looks pale yellowish & then as labor gets closer, it turns pinker/brown. I was still losing part of mine right up until I went into labor & it started about 3 weeks beforehand. Good luck & I hope it won't be much longer for you now!

Thanks for the info ladies! It's so weird checking the toilet/paper after all these months where I didn't worry. I'll tell my doctor about it on Wednesday, maybe I'll get checked? I know they start checks at 37 weeks but maybe they'll want to start a week earlier.
Megan, did you tell your doctor that yours was a little greenish?

I lost mine when my water broke. It was a big clear yellow snotty blob. Gross! It sounds like you lost part of yours.

I started losing mine here and there about 3 weeks before I had Amelia. Mine looked like what you're seeing, too. Some days I would lose more and some days nothing. The morning I went into labor I lost a bit and there was some blood on it, too. I should just forego the TMI disclosure because I think once you're pregnant/had a baby nothing body-related is TMI anymore, but still - sorry for the TMI.

Sounds like you lost part of yours! The thing is, the mucous plug keeps regenerating itself, so you will probably continue to lose it until you go into labor. But....it is a promising sign!
I lost my mucus plug starting 2 weeks before I went into labor I believe.

I started losing mine at 36w when I had a little false labor. I would lose more on days I was crampy or the day after I was checked. I always said it looked like old sinus infection snot! It really was the nastiest thing I have ever seen come out of my body! LOL Some people say when you lose your plug that means you will go into labor within a week...not true for me since I was induced at 39w.

I lost mine this morning, it looked very stringy and snotty, but was more brownish in color with white goo(TMI). Definitely gross! Sounds like you lost part of yours too!

Yeah, that's definitely not true. It's very common to still have weeks left after losing it.
