I woke up last night at 3 am to go pee...normal...

I however discovered I was hungry...tried to ignore it...and go back to sleep, after all it was just a couple of more hours...tossed and turned for an hour...finally gave in and had a bite to eat, and a fell asleep right away, how do I keep from getting so hungry in the middle of the night?

I would have a snack about 1/2 hour before bed. Also, kept crackers on my nightstand so that if I woke up hungry I could have 2-3 crackers and go back to sleep (after I went to the bathroom of course!) Waking up hungry stinks... can never fall back to sleep!
Good luck!

I tend to have a snack a little bit before I go to bed.... if I do happen to wake up hungry.. I just ignore it and go back to sleep.. It hasn't kept me from falling back asleep..

There were definitely times I woke up hungry--keeping string cheese, raw almonds or Kashi bars in our pantry really helped. For me, ignoring it just made things worse--it kept me awake or made me feel nauseous. It will pass. . . eventually. And I was definitely thirsty--I thought in the 3rd tri that I needed an IV overnight to keep me hydrated!

I remember those days! I would usually get a glass of milk and go back to bed, sometimes I'd need more, like a granola bar or something. I still have to keep a bottle of water by my bed because I wake up so thirsty.

I LIVED on 3:00am bowls of cereal for the first few months. I say if you're hungry in the night EAT! Even if it's something small like a piece of fruit, a few nuts, or a bowl of cereal!

Never ignore the hunger! I remember being up at all hours standing in front of the fridge, haha. In my third trimester I would eat a meal at 3am some nights! I did find though that keeping some snacks by the bed helped if I was too tired/lazy/sore to go to the kitchen... i had things like chewy granola bars, nuts, dry cereal, etc.

Hope you can get some sleep tonight!

I used to have the same exact thing happen to me. I would wake up around 3-4am and if I didn't get something to eat, I couldn't fall back to sleep.

I also snaked just before going to bed. I now this is the big diet no-no we always hear about so it was hard to do. But, a long as I ate a snack at night, I was usually okay to sleep through the night. I also keep water next to my bed because no matter how much water I drank before, I was always thirsty in the middle of the night.

Thanks girls...I have started having a snack before bed, and so far, that seems to help...it's bad enough getting up to go pee...let alone trying to be awake enough to decide what you want to eat at 3 am. LOL

Yup I so remember those days. If I was really hungry I would grab a snack because I would never be able to fall back to sleep. I usually would wake up twice a night to pee. Luckily for the most part I would just be thirsty but there was the ocasional starving attack and I would have to get some crackers or something else small.

I haven't started being hungry in the middle of the night yet. Right before bed? Yes, starving. I've been eating crackers so far. I have been getting up in the middle of the night to pee, which I have NEVER done. As an adult I've always just slept right through the night and peed in the morning. So this is throwing me off.
