Wow, ok, that was a weird experience!! I had my first ever contractions (at least that I was aware of) early this morning. I had gotten up to pee around 6am and when I came back to bed I just felt...weird. I don't know how to describe it, it was a *little* like nausea but more just a sense that something was going on. Baby was being really really active so at first I thought it was just that, but I kept tossing and turning and DH rolled over and asked if I was ok, and I said I felt weird and he put his hand on my belly and said, whoa you are contracting! I don't know why I had it in my head that if you are having a contraction you can't feel the baby through it, so I had thought that the kicks and pushes meant nothing was going on, but sure enough when I felt around more, my whole uterus was hard. I wasn't really counting them and they never hurt me, but the feeling of light pressure lasted on-and-off for over an hour, then slowly died down. I got a big glass of water and that helped a bit, but I guess I should take it easy today (easier said than done). It was a little scary, to be honest, because I've never experienced that before and I'm still so early in the pregnancy!

Glad they calmed down after you had some water and relaxed. My BH contrax have been really picking up over the past few days. I'm sure your body is just getting prepared for the real deal!

it's completely normal to have contractions as early as 30 weeks. As long as they went away, which thankfully they did, after an hour you are good! This is a good thing has it means you body is learning how to go into labor Now that you know what they feel like I'll be anxious to see if you get anymore!

Isn't that tight feeling an odd one?! I only had a few sporadic BH's, but it was just such a weird feeling. Water. Lots and lots of water will help.

I had really strong BH contractions, but my stomach wasnt completely hard.
I never felt real contractions as I broke waters and was induced, but had an epi at 6cm before I could feel them. So I cant compare!! I hope they mean everything is going well, you´re getting really close now!!

I still have no idea if what I've felt is BH and what I've felt recently are actual contractions. I think the actual ones just started this weekend, but maybe I'm just hopeful Glad yours stopped!

Glad they stopped! Baby needs to cook a little longer. Good to know that your body knows what to do though!

I had more than my fare share of BHs. They are nothing like normal contractions. Or at least in my case they weren't. Once I started having real contractions there was no mistaking them for any thing else. It's a good thing yours stopped, but I agree that it's not bad to start having them now. It's exciting you're getting so close to the end.

Definitely sounds like BH so it's exciting that your body is gearing up for the big day!

When I was pg & near the end I wasn't sure either & one of the March girls said when you have real contractions, you'll know it! At thet time I thought it was a little snotty but boy was she right! Sounds like your body is on its way though...can't wait to meet LO!

Actually, after the fact I kinda did like that I had them. They were not at ALL painful, and once I was sure that it was just a temporary thing, not pre-term labor, I thought it was pretty cool. Maybe not quite as cool as when my colostrum came in, but cool nonetheless. (I am continually amazed at how our bodies know what to do and when to do it...I feel like I'm finally aware of what it really means to be a woman, as cheesy at that sounds)
