I'm not surprised whatsoever. I read all about it and how good it was suppose to be and my DH told me flat out, no. He said his child was not going to be sleeping in a bed hung by a spring, on a stand. That is so sad
I actually was going to purchase one of these; they actually have really great reviews and were supported by JMPA up until those incidents occured which prompted their US company to shut down the phone lines and close up.
DH and I could care less about how the bed is made, if it helps the baby sleep through the night starting at 2-4 weeks old, reduces colic, SIDS prevention and whatnot, we are ALL for it! You can also hang beds by the ceiling if the frame is not your fancy.
Look at the number of deaths that occur in cribs because of SIDS, babies getting caught between the rails, suffocation because of bumpers, etc. - yet cribs are still used. The whole issue with Amby was that they told people they were handling this and then shut everything down and now CPSC cannot get ahold of anyone to talk to for their investigation, parents can't get their questions answered, they took down their US website...which just rickocheted into this. But their actions in the US make them look guilty and something is terribly wrong.
The other distribution areas are still selling the beds and are still receiving great reviews from parents across the continent.
Yeah, I've read all that great stuff too. There are also other methods to help prevent SIDS, colic, as well as getting children to sleep through the night other than sleeping in a swing. But to each their own
