I went to the Dr on Wed and he said everything was great. The used the doppler and then felt for my uterus. He told me that I would start feeling round ligament pains. Well this morning I woke up and while lying in bed I had this sharp stabbing pain in the top of my uterus right under my belly button. It was in the middle of my stomach instead of on the sides. It happened intermittently throughout the day today. I'm just trying to figure out if this is truly round ligament pain or is this something I need to be worried about?

I had the same sort of pains in the 1st and 2nd trimesters. The Dr. said it was just the uterus stretching out. I'm sure it's probably completely normal, but if you have any doubts you can definetely call your Dr. for re-assurance!

I had those pains on and off throughout the pregnancy (even now... I can't believe my poor uterus still has room to stretch!). It's normal, but like Andrea said, if you have concerns you should give a quick call to the doctor's office for reassurance.

I think you are fine, I am sure its just round ligament pain or even possibly gas. Try taking a warm bath and soak for a while, it should help with the pain.

thank you all for the info. The Dr's office called this morning to give me lab results and I asked the nurse to tell the Dr. She said to try taking some tylenol and relaxing but that she thought it was stretching as well.

Hey Amanda! I had the same feelings right around the beg. of the second trimester. They told me it was from all the stretching. I'm so happy everything is going so well for you

I had all kinds of weird pains throughout the pregnancy. Try to relax and put your feet up. Sometimes it took a few days for the pains to go away.
