Mine does... Partially because almost everyone in there already HAS kids, so a lot of conversations are centered around their existing children and I just feel left out.
Like the two threads I saw today... "When are you telling your other children?" and "Is this your last child?"
I only saw one other girl in both threads who was pregnant with #1.
Its like, I feel like any questions I ask there will be looked at as stupid because EVERYONE there has BTDT. Are all the DDCs like that, or just mine?
I don't think I'm the only one feeling that way, I know there are other girls there who are preggers with #1 but I never see them really post either...
It just makes you feel inferior when you get asked questions like "well, what happened with your last pregnancy?" - I feel like yelling there WASN'T one, so get lost!
*sigh* I like it here better... I know almost everyone and you're all so helpful, its not so intimidating because you're not ALL moms of 4, 5, 6, or even 8 kids (yes, there is a mom of 8 in my DDC - along with a few of 4, 5, and 6, and very few moms of none... A lot of girls are pregnant with #3 or higher.)
Can't I just stay here and not be in my DDC? LOL

I personally like having my DDC as an alternative posting place precisely BECAUSE there are BTDT moms there. I've gotten some really great advice over the course of my pregnancy on symptoms, purchases, etc. - not that I don't get that here as well, but I've found it is nice to have lots of different perspectives.

I always liked the fact that there were BTDT moms in my DDC too, because they knew a little more what to expect. I have quite a few of first timers (that are frequent posters here) in my DDC too, so that helps!

I sometimes post in my DDC because I know people there, but not as much as I post here.

I feel kind of the same way, but there are also SO MANY people in my DDC (I think over 100), that I don't really know anyone and I am sure nobody knows me. I like it here better too

Ithink the atmosphere of each DDC is different. The PR i'm in now hada great DDC. I was in one other DDC in '08. I wasn't there l.ong, but visited it periodically to check up on people. It was a lot different from my other DDC and i didn't like it as much. I think both areas can give you great knowledge, but if the DDC isn't a good fit then it's not. You could llok at joining a ddc before or after yours. We have lots of people in mine from other months.

I had a hard time in my DDC when I was newly pregnant - mainly because it took so long for us to get pregnant and we had to do IVF - and there were so many girls who had "oopsies".. I eventually got over it.... it's not like its there fault that my DH is infertile.. kwim?

I actually really enjoy the girls over in the June DDC.....I'm more active on that board because I like being on the same page with everyone rather than being so spread out.

I'm sorry you feel that way. I don't post as much in my DDC but do like to read posts about BTDT moms as well as first timers. I know in our DDC we did mini-groups and I posted there a lot since the symptoms and things happening were the same and it didn't so much matter how many children each person had.

I like my DDC but like Elissa said i just feel like i "know" people better here so i feel more comfortable asking stuff here. I also like that there are btdt first time mommies here because that is what i'll be if that makes sense.

You are definitely not alone. There were several of us here that are in the same DDC and had the exact same problems. Our DDC was pretty clicky and not that friendly. I've never really been a part of it. I mainly lurk on mine to see where the other babies are in their stages and compare them to Paige. But this is my home by far!!! There are so many of us on here in different stages that I think it's so nice and helpful. You definitely do not have to be part of your DDC, you are always welcome here and us BTDT moms can help you as much as possible!!!

I think it takes a long time to feel comfortable in a DDC, and as many have said, the ladies there might now be a good match for you. It took me a LONG time to warm up to my DDC/ PR, but the longer our pregnancies went on and then again after our babies were born, the group solidified--the stragglers just stopped posting. This allowed the core group to get to know each other much better. I hope you can find some ladies to whom you can relate.

My DDC is super nice, but most are definitely BTDT moms...
It definitely comes in handy when I have no idea on something, and its nice to experience milestones together...
But, ya know, you girls will always be my favorites
