Maybe bad news... (Update 12/29/09 post #1)

I was having bad cramps and a little spotting so my OB got me in today. She did an U/S and said she saw a sac but no yolk... so no baby... she said I could just be earlier than I thought I was... but if I really was 6 weeks... this was not a good sign. I had my HCG drawn today and will have another done on Christmas Day when I'm at work and will call her Sat on her cell to get the results. I am also scheduled to have another U/S on wednesday. I am trying to stay hopeful because I know people this has happened to before and a few weeks later they found the baby. Just please keep me in your T & Ps. The cramping and spotting has stopped for now so we will see... Also... I took my last FRER when I got home and it was bright pink very dark (a lot darker than the control) so... I am still hopeful. I just won't be announcing anything to the family at Christmas now...

Update:
Well... I got my HCG levels back. At 6:00 pm on Wednesday it was 1349. At 11:00 am Friday it was 1844. My OB said they should double every 48 hours but everything on the internet says 48-72 hours. If it is 72 hours... then it would around doubled by then. It wasn't even 48 hours between blood draws. So she said this could be a sign of an ectopic pregnancy but she didn't see anything on the U/S that would make her worry. She also said that explains why she didn't see anything on the U/S because you usually can't see anything until 1500. This seems wierd to me because on Wednesday she told me she saw a small gestational sac but nothing in it. So.... my HCG levels are going up which is a good sign. And I am not giving up hope yet!

Update 12/28/09 : I just passed brown clot when I peed. There was also a tiny spot of red blood on the TP. I am still having no cramps. I hope this is not the end.

Update 12/29/09: I have been very queasy all day long but have not thrown up. My spotting is almost completely gone.. it's just a little tiny bit whenever I pee and that's it. No more cramps.... Now I just have to wait until tomorrow morning to see what's going on with this bean of mine!

I know I have read about this at least 1 other time in my DDC where they found the baby on a later u/s, so try to stay positive!!

I totally understand your feeling about Christmas

Last year I found out my pregnancy was probably not going to make it, two days before Christmas. Just try to enjoy being with your family/friends. You will be in my thoughts.

Well, now that I am calmer... here is the rest of the story... At first... she told me that she has seen pregnancy tests be wrong and she was referring to the gestational sac in my uterus as a cyst. She said she could not tell me how far along I was... she could not tell me if I was miscarrying... she could not tell me much of anything.... She said I could be earlier than I think I am... but I told her probably not... then she told me if I was right then this was a bad sign... I'm not sure what to think about all this... I'm not sure if she handled all this correctly...On a good note... when I got home my friend called me and said that the same thing happened to her husband's ex. She went in at 6 weeks and there was no yolk sac, no fetal pole, no nothing. She was encouraged to abort but refused. At 9 weeks... she went in and saw the heartbeat...

Thank you so much... Wednesday I will know more. It just sucks because I am on my Christmas break and Wednesday is my last day off. Either way I will be ok. I am strong...
