Hi Girls!!

Just a question,

the diabetes test that we have to do around week 27 ( that is the average here where we live, depening on family history), you have to fast x12 hr, and then drink this orangy liquid, wait an hour, then get blood taken.. and hear the results a few days later,

is this the same test all you girls have to take? if so, how did you feel after drinking the liquid ???....

I was feeling sickish, like i wasnt feelign well at all, felt faint-ish.. felt like i could have threw up.. I dont know if that was a normal reaction or what.. how did you feel??

Thanks!!!

Sounds normal enough. I felt mildly icky after drinking it. It's pure sugar so on an empty stomach it can definitely make you feel yucky.

I felt fine, but I did not do so well on the 1 hour and will have to do the three hour on Monday. Hope you get good results!

I had the same reaction you did! I took the train to the OB's office and I actually had to make DH pick me up to take me home afterwards because I told him I was going to barf before I even made it to the train station. I was so nauseous!

I felt very sick after drinking the stuff. Funny enough, I actually liked the way it tasted at the time (it was nice and cold) but about an hour later I felt like crap. I did end up passing the test just fine.

It didn't taste good, but, it was over fast enough...

FOr me, they let me eat beforehand though (though the lady at the blood place thought that was wrong - it wasn't)...
