How far along were you ladies when you started going on hospital tours? Also when did you start looking for pediatricians? What types of questions did you ask your pediatricians? I'm almost 8 months and was curious as to when I needed to start doing these things. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

My doc has a little paper that says to register at the hospital by 30 weeks and thats when they usually give you the tour.

As for pediatrician i have no advice, dh and i go to family practice doctor so he'll be checked out by a hospital ped then just go to our regular doc after.

I had a tour in my birthing class and I had the class really early on. I was done with the class by 24 weeks. I took a multiples class though and it was only offered every few months. The next time it was offered was way too later for me to take it. I knew which hospital I was going to deliver at without a tour. It has an amazing reputation and most of my friends have had kids there.

We started interviewing pediatricians pretty early too. I think we had ours picked about 2 months before the girls were born. I wanted to make sure we had one if the girls were born early. I started by asking a ton of people who they went to and what they liked or didn't like about that office.

I didn't do the hospital tour (mainly because my BFF gave birth to her daughter there and I was with her plus I've been to this hospital a million times). As for picking a pedi, I asked around to see who my friends recommended and I also spoke to the nurses in the NICU and they all gave me great reviews on this pedi. I personally don't like the pedi they recommended (great doc but she's just impersonal) but there's two others in the practice that I adore. Good luck with everything

We did our tour at the end of August and got all registered. We had signed up for so many classes, I wanted to get things done a bit early. I did a bit of "shopping around" for a pedi, and picked one that was recommended by friends. You're getting SO close!

We are doing the hospital tour on January 20...
I've talked to the ladies at my school about pediatricians, and have narrowed it down to two of them, one is really good, and only 2 miles from our house, so we are going to try them first...dont know what type of questions that I'm going to ask yet though...

Got the hosptial tour at our childbirth class around 34 weeks and meet with the pedi when I was about 36 weeks. We asked the pedi about shots, after care hours, if there is an advice nurse to call, and basically just got a feel for the office and staff there!

We are planning to go on a hospital tour Jan 20. It's earlier than some people do but we wanted to do it early so we'll know for sure whether we like the hospital.

We haven't looked into pediatricians yet.
