Don't give up yet hun!

I went looking for a doubling calculator, and I found one - it said this at the bottom :

Beta hCG levels usually double approximately every 2 days for the first four weeks of pregnancy [1]. As pregnancy progresses the doubling time increases. By 6 to 7 weeks gestation beta hCG levels may take as long as 3 1/2 days to double [2,3]. The beta hCG may take more than 2 to 3 days to double in 15% of normal intrauterine pregnancies. About 17% of ectopic pregnancies have normal doubling times.

All with citations to medical journals. Your doubling time is under 2.5 days! It said 2.43 days. Don't worry just yet, I know its been so hard for you but I wouldn't count yourself out yet!

I have read that beta's are supposed to double every 48 to 72 hours...if you had waited another 24 hours I have no doubt they would have been doubled...please don't count yourself out yet hun!!!

Going up is definitely a good sign. I know it didn't quite double, but I'll be praying hard that everything is a-ok!

I want to give the don't worry, all is well speech, but I feel like you've been around the block enough with that. . . I understand why you are worried and feeling hopeless. Not to say that I think you should feel that way, but I would be hesistant if I were in your shoes. I think that the numbers don't rule you out, so sit tight and wait for the next draw to either start feeling hopeful or feeling discouraged. It's a long time to hang in limbo and a mind can play some serious tricks during those days. Try to stay busy and come vent to us anytime you need to let off some steam.

My numbers went up appropriately with my last pregnancy (even more than doubled each time) and that was a blighted ovum....I just have a hard time believing that this is going to turn out ok

I'm sorry for being a debbie downer but I JUST went through this in Oct/Nov and it feels like deja vu!!!!

Thank you Courtney

I'm going back on Friday for another beta.....I called the office back and asked if I could come in because I knew that waiting until Monday for my U/S would drive me insane...

Youve been through so much and I'm not going to ask you to be positive, because I understand preparing for the worst to make it easier, but let us be the positive for you...I gotta go with Cheryl, you aren't THAT far from doubling, so, I think until you see differently, I'm gonna go with that little bean isn't done with you yet...
Remember what happened to Melissa's numbers, they were super slow at first, and now she's in the second tri!

I wish the number had been sky high so you knew you were in the clear.
uncertainty is the last thing you want right now. Just keep in mind that doubling every 48 to 72 is the norm. That doesn't mean that doubling outside of that is necessarily bad. I think I used The Beta Base website to compare my hcg to others. I can't get there right now to give you the link. I hope Friday's number is better and that you get only positive news on Monday. That all being said, I would be upset just like you are

There is no way that any of us can even begin to understand how you feel with all that you have been through, but just remember no matter what happens we are all here for you to help you anyway we can

I'm so sorry they didn't give you the total piece of mind you desperately needed. But I agree with everything the other girls said! It is 48-72 hours and they did go up alot! We all will be hopeful for you! I just know this has got to be it for you! I hate that you are worried now. I will be praying harder for you than I ever have before. Everytime I think about it I'll say a little prayer for you. Big

I agree that you are still w/in the normal range, but I completely understand why you feel the way you do. You're not being a "debbie downer." I would probably have the same feelings if I were in that situation! I'm glad you are getting beta's done again on Friday. Like someone else said, we will be positive for you! I love you girl, hang in there!
