I posted the long story in my journal (link in siggy) so here's the short version.....Yesterday we rushed to the ER because I started to bleed, more than spotting. They checked Hcg levels which were good. They checked urine and said I had a possible UTI. Then they did a regular stomach ultrasound and vaginal and said the pregnancy was in the uterus and progressing as it should be. But my right ovary was enlarged possibly due to a cyst. Then they did a pelvic exam and said my uterus was closed. Everything turned out to be okay with the baby and I but we're still very worried. They don't know where the bleeding came from but it has stopped. We're very thankful everything is good right now but could use all the thoughts and prayer possible! The clinic is supposed to call today for a follow up of either blood work or an appointment if not the doctor said to call them on Monday. So it's just sit and wait now...
bleeding can be normal the first trimester. Sometimes it's completely unexplainable where it comes from (I had bleeding off and on until 22 weeks!) As long as they say everything is okay, then I'm sure it is. You may have broken a capilary and that's where the blood is coming from.
I will still keep you in my T&Ps though! The first tri is always the scariest!
I'm so sorry you have to go through this. I went through something like this at 5 weeks and had to go to the ER as well. I know how terrifying it is and really hope it turns out okay. I had quite a bit of spotting/bleeding up until 10 weeks and even had some spotting a few weeks ago. Hope everything turns out okay and will be keeping you and your bean in my T&Ps.
I had a blood clot that formed in my uterus from when the blast burrowed in. The sonographer said that when clots like that are very close to the cervix they tend to make their way out and can cause concern in early pregnancy.
Glad that baby is looking good, but so sorry about the scare...
FWIW, a LOT of ladies in my DDC had bleeding (including Casey) and everything turned out fine
THANK YOU ALL! It means the world to me and thanks so much for sharing your experiences with me. It really gives me piece of mind. I was an emotional wreck but now I get that it's normal and everything is okay. I'm dying to get into my first appointment now and see for myself that everything is still okay. Only a week and six days to go!
