I think my husband is going throught the male equivelent of nesting! Sunday the roommate left, Monday the floors were cleaned and we cleaned the door, lightswitch and a strange dirty handprint left on the wall. So yesterday I had to work and got home around 8 pm. Well when I got home I couldn't find DH anywhere. Well he was upstairs putting the crib and changing table together! So we stayed up until about 11 pm getting those all put together. I was really surprised he did this last night because he has been working like crazy. He has literally had one day off in the past 6 weeks and is just running himself ragged. These next two weeks are crazy too (he's a manager for a cargo handling company and he is having to do like 45 charter planes in the next 2 weeks due to all the Haiti relief funds trying to get overseas) So today he calls me and says he's getting off early and asks me to look up the dimensions for the mattresses, make sure the crib set we want is available in stores, and gives me this list of tasks, etc. So we are going today to get the mattress and crib set! And then ordering everything else we need offline so it can be here soon. He wants everything done by valentines day! Is this the male equivalent to nesting? And is this normal?! I'm loving it and all, but man I thought I was the one needing to get things done ASAP! Which I need to actually get off here and go get ready....he wants me ready by the time he gets here....no time to waste ya know!

LOL My DH won't even switch the closets for bedroom/office - how long has it been since we moved our bedroom upstairs? LOL

I think Ben & Darren need to hang out! I sure hope its male nesting, that means everyone elses hubby gets it, too! LOL

I think so!!! My DH is doing the same thing. The day we found out she was a little girl and healthy he moved everything out of her room so that we can start putting her stuff in it. He's been cleaning and organizing! I'm just hoping that he continues to be this way after the baby arrives!!!

was that a trick question!?
I would fall over dead if DH acted that way about cleaning or just getting things done around the house (he has no excuse becuase he is unemployed and home all day).
That's really awesome how excited and anxious your DH is getting! I love it!

My DH hasn't really been nesting, but in regards to preparing for the baby he does pretty much what I tell him, LOL! He painted our nursery, set up the furniture, and is now working on making some wooden animals to hang up. He is working and going to school which takes up a lot of his time so I really don't blame him for not doing a lot of nesting. I have been doing enough for both of us.

my DH has done some cleaning but not a ton really. He is getting excited about our baby boy coming soon though and when we go shopping for him we end up coming back with more than I had put down because he thinks "it's cute" or "he needs it" which is nice because he had been pretty quiet about the baby in general until lately. Now I just have to get him to set stuff up once I finish cleaning up and organizing.
