What does it feel like? I have never had heart burn before...I have always joked that I have a cast iron stomach, but last night I had what I think was heart burn. I took one rolaid, and it took about an hour for it to go away, but it wasn't a constant burn, it was an intermittant burn...it would burn for about a minute, go away, and come back about 10-20 minutes later. I'm just not sure if that sounds like heart burn or if it could have been something else...can anyone tell me what their heart is like.

It feels like acid burning in my chest. I also never had heartburn.

The doctor told me that pregnancy hormones makes that tube a two way street so that acid can come back up. Also - because the baby makes our organs move... the stomach moves up and it also can cause heartburn.

It does feel like acid in your chest or sometimes feels its creeping back up your throat. Tums worked best for me. I used the cocoa/cream ones like they were candy.

Mine definitely comes in waves, sometimes burning burping and stuff. Weird that rolaids took an hour to make it go away though, I take tums and it's instant relief. Never tried Rolaids. I would definitely say it's not a constant pain, but for me it's always there, even if it goes through times when it's not as bad.

For me it is constant, but everyone has it differently...to me, it is exactly as described, a very obviou *burning* in the chest...

Some things that helped me were sitting up straight (dont lay down, and sleep propped up even), raw almonds and organic plain yogurt...
Some of the girls in my DDC swear by Zantac...

GL - heartburn sucks!!

I never had HB until I was pregnant (it's gone now WOO HOO) but it feels like stomach acid coming up to your chest and throat. TUMS work wonders!

It depends on the person so I have heard some have it in waves some have it constant. Since I had acid reflux disease b4 I got pregnant I usually had it in waves some days and constant other days it sucks. Ironically enough it's pretty much been non existant since I was about 14 weeks (when I stopped throwing up) which has been nice
