So - DH and I worked late tonight - and stayed downtown later... we get to our car and someone had smashed the window and stolen our GPS!! There's glass all over! And i have no passenger window! UGH!!!

It's COLD out there. I had to sit in the back seat (didn't realize there was some glass back there) and bundle up for the ride home.

What an annoyance! AND - my GPS has Home programmed in! UGH!

Ah that's so crappy! I hope your auto insurance will pay for it. unless your deductible is more than the gps... Either way, those jerks.

It's not the GPS as much as it is the window! DH says we aren't getting another GPS - he doesn't want the frustrations again.

Now it's time to wait for insurance to let us know what to do - what's less expensive - through insurance or not.

It's about 14F outside... brrr... I'm staying home and staying in until that's fixed.

Oh, no! Can RCMP do a drive-by on the house for the next week? Or do ya'll have a gun? I'd be more concerned about someone knowing where I lived more than anything.

Oh no that's horrible! I hope you can have the window fixed quickly. Be careful because of the GPS having your address. Sorry you are dealing with this right now.

That's horrible! That's a lesson for the day for all of us....... home addy programmed in the gps... I guess it's more hassle to delete the home addy each time? I'm so sorry this happened to you. My DH's truck and 3 other friends were broken into at a deaf club. one of our friends' car window got damaged..but dh's and other cars were fine cuz of unlocked doors.. that friend's car who had window damaged had locked car..that's why.

I hope your insurance cover everything!

Oh no!! That really sucks! Hopefully your insurance will pay for the window. We always hide our GPS when we leave the car so people won't be tempted to break in. Sad that there are people out there like that!

So we spoke with the police last night and there were a number of cars that got hit at the train parking lot. The officer also said not to worry about the home being programmed... honestly - they could have taken the ownership and had it PLUS our names. He figures they just wanna make a quick buck on the GPS.

We just picked up the GPS after x-mas so we got to enjoy it for a total of 6 weeks! UGH!

Our insurance has a $300 deductible... and they quoted us $350 for the window. DH called another auto glass place and they did it for $220. So we didn't go through insurance. Still SO annoying!!

Please insert swear words here!

So sorry Liss... that happened to us TWICE and after the second time we decided the same thing you did- not worth it to buy another one. It's such an awful feeling too, I cried both times... just from feeling so gross and violated. Not fun.

We didn't even leave it out in sight, but there must have been visible suction cup marks on the windshield giving it away. I really miss it sometimes, too!! It was SO nice! Maybe someday we'll be able to buy a car with one built in...

Oh sweetie I'm so sorry =( Glad you are staying in and keeping warm until it is fixed. Yah, We also have one but DH has always had me take it with me/us when we aren't in the car. Probably the only place I leave it in the car is when I am on Base (we are in the military) shopping or running errands.

We've got a Garmin Nuvi250 which has our Home address programmed in but you have to know the pin/password to even access the GPS after it first starts up. That makes me feel a little better.

I'm so sorry about all the hassle and insurance issues. We're planning to have the GPS built in to the next car we purchase. But even that worries me a little.

Lots of comforting hugs!

that really sucks sorry that u had to go though that. We have had to pay for stuff too lately. FIL (family van) lost his Dongle (the alarm and lock and unlock thing for ur car) it ended up costing us $110 for that which right now with the baby coming so soon we didn't need plus the place screwed up the electrical on the van so now he's got to take it back on Monday to get that fixed but they screwd that one up and are paying for it no ifs ands or buts that is for sure.

I'm just glad I don't live in Downtown Vancouver as well right now &%^%ing protesters are tearing the area apart wrecking buildings and cars doesn't prove a thing and the world wont see it. Just the people who live here and some people who are in that area at the time just makes things look bad and ends up costing us all in the end.
