your nursery!!!

Hypothetical/plans/colors/themes...i want to hear (or see!!)

I love the chocolate thing going around but i am not one to follow trends...so if i use it, it will be an accent color. For my girls room i like baby pink, chocolate brown and that sagey green color. And there will definitey be paisleys!! For my boys room i like sage green, navy and white. We'll have to see what i can find when the time comes and honestly DH will probably try to talk me into camo...but i LOVE the navy!! hmmmm.

I will say that I don't like to paint and I'm anal about hanging things on the walls....no holes n the walls for me! So the baby's room will just be white furniture and an oak/green cushion glider (I've had it for years). And the walls will be builder tan.

Yes, I know...I'm boring!

you can make a nursery just as cute with furniture, bedding and accessories.

I am horrible about hanging stuff up

We're planning the Disney "Up!" theme for a boy and "Alice in Wonderland" for a girl. I'll probably have to get crafty for either of these but it'll be fun!

Is your DH military? Mine said camo for a boy as soon as we started talking nursery themes Lol.

Well, since we're going gender neutral, its probably going to end up being black and white like we had planned. Crib is going to be picked up in a few weeks (shower gift from my MIL & FIL!) and its this one - DaVinci Emily 4-in-1 Convertible Baby Crib in Ebony - M4791E

Then getting the paint this weekend, already have the dressers (they're rosewood veneer, antique, solid wood dressers - originally a wedding gift to my grandparents when they first got married ) and we're just basically going to be adding black & white accessories until baby is born, and then when baby is born and we know the gender, we'll be adding a whole bunch of pink or blue

We probably won't be buying the crib bedding set until baby is born, because of the pink or blue thing, but we'll be buying a gender neutral sheet or two to tide us over

This is the bedding and accessories we're doing

Monkey Bars Bedding by Carters - Monkey Baby Crib Bedding - c401bed4

right now i'm thinking either the walls will be all green or three green and one tan? Not sure yet...

This is the crib/changing table that hopefully dhs mom will order soon and then we're not getting a dresser we're getting this instead.
Walmart.com: BSF Baby - Austin Austin 4-in-1 Crib 'n Changer Combo, Cherry: Furniture
Walmart.com: Badger Basket's Wooden Storage Cabinet with Wicker Baskets, Cherry: Kids' & Teen Rooms

We'll have toys, blankets, hats, bibs and stuff in there while he's little then toys in there when he's older and then he'll just have plastic storage bins in the closet (his closet is pretty big) for clothes. His bedroom itself isnt that big so i dont want to take up floor space for a dresser. I think we'll have name letters somewhere and we're also getting the art that goes with his bedding so that will go somewhere. We'll also have the window valance and probably green or tan curtains i'm not sure which yet.

I wanted to do a baby looney tunes theme since it is dh's fav (taz) but I can't get it here in Canada so just basically going with blues, greens and some light colors for now until we see what we get at our shower when the baby is born. I think as long as it is inviting it doesn't matter. Plus he's going to be with us for the first few months anyway so we have some time.

I ordered my crib bedding last week. This is it: CoCaLo™ Baby Jacana 6-Piece Crib Bedding Set - Bed Bath & Beyond the crib we got is cherry finish, so that's what the furniture will be , then the walls and stuff will hopefully be something neutral that coordinates with the bedding, so when she gets new bedding when she's older, we don't have to re paint or wallpaper.

Walls are a very light blue...but they were that way when we moved here (just repainted one wall that's about it)
Kinda in the same vein as LeeAnn, very anti wall holes, so going with things that aren't nailed in...or using the nail holes that were there before...
Crib is:
Amazon.com: DaVinci Parker 4-in-1 Crib in Coffee: Baby

Dresser/changing table:
JCPenney : Coffee "Heirloom Collection" Dresser by Rockland

Bookcase:
JCPenney : Coffee Finish Caden Bookcase by Rockland

Rocker (I dont think this is the exact one, but close):
JCPenney : Lane® Bravo Zero-Gravity Rocker Recliner

Just got this off of Craigslist this morning also:
ToysRUsGSI

Nursery theme is sea creatures, it was given to me by a friend at school, but I cant find a picture of it...

We did Ballerina's and Bunnie's in Ashlynn's room. DH painted it & set up allthe furniture. She was born early at 36 weeks so I don't have alot of the current pictures from the finishing touches we did to her nursery.

Here are a few of the pics from when it was under construction. I do Vinyl Printing so I will be adding quotes and graphics to her walls and some Wooden Letters with her name along with some shelves for her books & a toybox my Father in Law is making for her.

Sakeenco (sorry IDK your real name), not sure if you have a credit card (and of course none of my business LOL) but you CAN find the looney tunes bedding sets in Canada, you just have to look on eBay.

In fact, this one is under $40! Looney Tunes Bunny Tweety Taz Baby Crib Bedding Set 3 on eBay.ca (item 170442921086 end time 08-Mar-10 20:37:10 EST)

Hope that helps

I'm going to go with Royal purple and charcoal grey. DH and I are pretty modern in our design so we went with simple. On the royal purple we will have charcoal grey stars embroderied and visa versa on the charcoal grey fabrics it wll be royal purple stars. We are going for a "mature themed" nursery

I found some cute bedding for the nursery. I really like the pink and brown. I am trying to do a bug theme whether it is a boy or a girl.

I love this one for a girl:
Just Buggy Bedding by Glenna Jean - Baby Crib Bedding - 37440

And this for a boy:
Bumble Bee Baby Bedding by JoJo Designs - Bumble Bee Crib Bedding

Amanda, my BIL and SIL did that for my nieces room...in fact they just changed her bedding and she's 4 1/2 and her walls and such are still the same, just added a few different pieces. I think that is a very good idea!! And i love the color combo!

FyreMommy, love your nursery!! Very cute!

Tonya, i LOOOOVE your furniture. I especially love the giant green recliner...B has one similar that is blue. It stays in the office though. I remember you saying regular gliders are too hard on your butt! I personally want a chair and ottoman combo. I know i am going to want a rocker but maybe i can find one with that option. We'll see.

Heather, that is really cute! I have some wall hangings for a girl that are pink and brown that i bought a long time ago. I will put them in the nursery if its a girl....like i said, i like it just not as the main color. Here's a pic of my favorite bedding:

I also really like this one:

I will be painting the room a very very very light blue, like almost white, to go with the mural that I will be painting...

The bedding is being made for me...so I have to see what we pick first, and go from there...it will probably have leaves and or flowers in it somehow...I plan on having some girley letters spelling out her name too, once I pick fabric, and the colors of that are totally decided.
