Ok, so I probably shouldn't say anything cause you can never tell how these things will go...and I'll probably end up going to 41 weeks and eating my words...
But, I'm not gonna tell anyone IRL, so you are my only outlet, so bare with me...

Today I've had very menstrual like cramping going on in my lower abdomen...
Kaiden has been nice and active, but the cramping is weird...and I had a very big clot of brown blood this afternoon also (I'd had a cervical exam on Thursday, but this was like more than 24 hours after I'd had any spotting or anything from that)...
So, I called in to L&D and the DR (super sweet) told me to head in...

Ok, so, I feel kinda stupid doing that, but I also really wouldn't mind having it evaluated...Matt agreed cause he has a marathon tomorrow and we wanted to be sure everything was ok), so off we went...

Got an NST done, and his heartbeat was perfect (and I quote from the nurse "He's got the heartbeat of a rockstar" - YEAH!)...and I had one contraction (which I didn't even feel at all), but other than that, pretty much stayed at a 2 on the paper (paper went up to a 12, and the big one which I didn't feel was a 6 - weird, I know)...of course, I didn't have cramps which I'd had all day (which made me feel very stupid)...but they were so nice about it that it was ok...

So, DR comes in and says that there is some uterine contracting, but I'm not in labor or anything - but even if I was, she wouldn't stop it since I'm full-term (well, technically full-term is Monday, but same difference)...then she does another cervical check...

Now, bare with me, these were done by 2 different DRs...
On Thursday, my DR said I was 2cm dilated and 80% effaced...
Today (different DR), said I was 3cm dilated and 70% effaced (I'm assuming that one is more of a judgement call than the dilation)...
And both of them remarked (and apologized to me cause apparently its really uncomfortable) about how super low he is...this DR said he was at a zero station...
She thinks that was what is causing the cramping, just him being big and super low...

So...I always thought he would come late - always...in fact, I was already buttering up the DR that I didn't want to go much more than a week beyond my EDD, and would want to be induced if he isn't here by 41 weeks...

But...
Maybe, just maybe, he might be coming a bit early...
And now I'm getting nervous, cause this whole thing might actually be getting real
Oh, and now the cramps are going again...
I'm thinking about 2 weeks at most at this point...
Should be an interesting 2 weeks

The nervousness is a good nervousness...more of a OMG, I'm bringing a life into this world and I better not do anything to mess him up - more of a I want to do a great job with this child nervousness than anything else...
I dont think that will go away ever once he is here...

Kate...
The difference is that they checked me as a 2cm (actually, she said 1.5-2cm) on THURSDAY, and today (two days later!) I'm at a solid 3cm...YIKES!

Definitely sounds like he's coming sooner vs. later, Tonya. Be happy! He is engaged and your body is preparing like it should! I know it's probably sooner than you were expecting, but trust me, better to go a little early and have everything progressing nicely than to go late and have your baby reluctant to come out (I should know!). GL girl - you're gonna do GREAT!!!

I can't BELIEVE you are practically 37 weeks!!! How exciting! My honest opinion is that your body is definetely getting ready for labor. It could come on really quickly, or could take days or weeks, but either way it will help your labor out in the end. I can't wait to hear updates!!

I have no advice since obviously my "labor" was not the norm but i am just very excited for you to meet your little guy soon. It really is a very surreal feeling to realize that you brought a life into the world

Yay! I can't believe it's almost time!!!

I am so happy that your body is doing what it's supposed to and it sounds like your little one is getting ready to make an appearance on his own. That is so much better than being induced

Yay Tonya! I hope you can relax a bit, but it sounds like baby is coming soon! I agree though, the time has just flown by! I remember the day you got your BFP, seems like just yesterday

That is really exciting and I totally understand you nervousness! IT's a very scary and anxious time. I definitely think your body is gearing up for labor, but like the others have said, it could come any minute or you still may be late. There's really no rhyme or reason to it...that's the frustrating part. Other than that how are you doing? Sleeping oK? Oh and tell DH congrats on the marathon!!! That's a huge accomplishment! I ended up signing up for that sprint triathlon...a bit nervous about it!

I can't believe you will be meeting your little man soooo soon! I'm so happy for you!

This has most definitely been an exciting week, with Kate's and you progressing steadily like you are... I can't believe it's that close, and how exciting to be bringing a little life into this world...but I understand your nervousness...at supper last night, I was asking DH if he thought we would be good parents...I'm nervous already and it's still 17 wks away!!!

Congrats Tonya! I know how you feel about the nervousness, but it must be a huge relief to know that your body is progressing as expected. Can't wait to meet Kaiden!

So excited that my body is working with me so far to get him on his way out...
Just can't wait...OMG, I want to meet him so bad!
It has flown by, yes...but it still just seems surreal at the same time...and like that point is never going to get here...

PS-This morning, I definitely lost my mucous plug yowsers...but no cramping today at all - and Matt qualified for Boston - WHOO HOO!!
