Well IDK how its going to play out since baby is still 6 months away LOL but I did some initial organizing last night with the hand-me-down clothes I have, and here is how I organized it for now - maybe it'll help?
I have a 6 drawer dresser for clothes, the top two are dedicated to receiving blankets & socks in one, diapers & wipes in another (its also my changing table LOL)
All the onesies are in a drawer. Together. I'm thinking ahead for efficiency, and I know it will be vastly easier to have things organized by type, and every day stuff in drawers (think fold, put away vs. hang up in the closet).
The sleepers are all in a drawer together. These two drawers are side by side, since I think they'll be the most used.
Then pants have their own drawer all together, jeans and sweats all in the same but I did get a LOT of jeans hand-me-down and very few sweats, so that probably has a lot to do with it.
Then the last drawer is for blankets.
I have all the special outfits, jackets, sweaters, dresses, etc. hanging up in the closet.
For now, it all seems to work... It seems like it'll be easy to keep it that way once baby is born, since only rarely used items are hung up, and everything else is just organized into 3 categories and tossed in drawers - sleepers, pants, onesies & diaper shirts. Eventually the blanket drawer will be dedicated to shirts, but not until baby is actually wearing shirts LOL
Hope that helps! I know I don't have baby yet, but it always helps me to hear other people's plans to help me get everything sorted out
