DH is so frustrating me.
I know that he doesn't care what I do with the nursery...he's not into the whole decorating thing, and most of things that I have brought home or suggested, he usually says oh that's cute, or that's nice, and that's about it. Now don't get me wrong, most times I like the freedom to do what I want to do in that room, it's nice to not have to please two people, but I'm starting to get nervous about money, and so want some input from him on what we should do...
Carpet or Laminate?
If we do Laminate would we then do an area rug?
What base color should we paint the room?
I picked up two paint samples today, and I guess it's even harder for me, because my mom doesn't live here, and so it's hard for me...I am TERRIBLE at making decisions as it is...and it seems the hormones have made it worse, and so I brought home these two paint samples, and I wasn't even going to ask him which one he thought, or anything, I was just excited I had found a couple of colors that we maybe could use as the base coat, and I take them to him to show him, and he's like, I don't care.
I don't care??!! I mean I know he doesn't care, I get that, but I'm excited could you please just show me one freaking ounce of caring!!! UGH!!! I'm so frustrated...as this baby gets closer, it really makes me wish my mom lived closer.

Oh I'm sorry honey! I totally understand how you feel - mine isn't the nursery but some of the other things...
Men are just SO "whatever" sometimes!
So - what are your colours? Where did u get the chips? Maybe I can run to the store this weekend and see them and tell u my thoughts?

They are from Home Depot...
They are Behr ones...
It's between two colors...
Club Soda, and White Sapphire, they are both light subtle blues.

Definitely do an area rug if you do hard flooring. Crawling around without soft ground would suck you can always ask us, we care I haven't even cleaned out the future baby room yet, let alone picked out paint colors so you're way ahead of me!

Girl...guys don't care about that (for the most part - of course)...it is what it is...
Matt just does what I ask him to do, I basically make the decisions and he wants no part of it - but I'm kinda bossy so it works out well
If he isn't into it, just come on here and ask us - we love that kinda stuff

Marci;
Instead of doing an area rug if you do laminate, do those tiles - the foam ones. Softer on baby's knees for crawling around. My friend did those in her son's room, and she has laminate floors - says she's glad she did those.
A local store here in town (Lellow) carries some in Pink actually, IDK who else might carry them but its worth a shot
And you can always ask us what we think! How about put the paint samples up against something you already have for the nursery, and take some pics - we'll be honest.
And I'm sure he cares, guys just have a tendancy to see all colours like that as white, or blue, or whatever. They don't see the differences between shades and stuff, they just stick with general colours because their brains comprehend it easier. DH is NO help in picking colours either LOL
GL hunnie, we all understand and we're here to help!

Thanks girls for the encouragement... You always know how to make me feel better. I guess if I was a better decision maker, it wouldn't be as big of a deal. You should see DH and I trying to decide what to have for supper (especially now that I'm pregnant, it's hilarious) Anyway, I am feeling better this morning, so thanks...

I haven't finished cleaning out the room either...I am doing it in stages...very slow stages...but I am almost done, what I can do for now, I just happen to be at home depot so decided I should find some paint chips since I happen to be there.

I think Cheryl is talking about these: Amazon.com: Multi-Purpose Reversible (Bright Colors or Neutral Charcoal) Foam Floor Mats/Tiles, Anti-fatigue Mat, for Business, Home, Basement, Workshop, Kitchen, Children's Rooms (Child Safe), Pool Area, Gym and Exercise, Gardens, Garage, Laundr
We use to do Krav Maga and had a workout room in the old house tiled with these (the floors there were a wood laminate), they were really nice and comfortable to workout on.
My hubby and I don't combine incomes....we just split the bills, cause I'm a real freak about money management....so I just buy whatever I want. I sometimes consult dh about the bigger purchases, but the smaller ones, I just make the decision. DH doesn't really care because I'm a tightwad anyways.
We'll definitely help you out if you post some pics!

I'm sorry you were having such a hard time the other day! I'm glad to hear that you are feeling better. Men are just hopeless sometimes when it comes to decorating. I hope that he comes around though.

The only other room in the house that has carpet is our bedroom, and we will probably eventually tear that out and put laminate as well, since carpet seems so expensive...but I hadn't fully decided on that one yet.
Men are useless, with that I have to agree!!!

I guess i'm lucky. My DH enjoys helping pick things out and come up with nursery ideas, but he also worked with paint for awhile so he knows a lot about it. I, on the other hand, don't know much about paint, floors or anything related. I hope you get it figured out!

Yay for feeling better Marci! And yes, those are what I was talking about, and my friend says with her little boy crawling and now walking, and laminate in the bedrooms, she wouldn't have it any other way! He avoided a lot of bruises and bumps thanks to those floor mats

Lol the best I can ever get from my DH is his opinion on things he hates. I just have to make choices by process of elimination
