So, today was my last day at school - I thought that would be the excitement of the day (specially since I was up till 2am finishing grading their tests yesterday) - boy was I wrong!
Anyway...I had a OB appointment this morning (8:30am - my first class starts at 9:30am), and the sub was at school this morning "just in case" I took longer (cause she is absolutely awesome!!)...so, I was excited to get checked for progress...
Normal stuff first, peed in a cup - no blood, which means my UTI is gone - WHOO HOO!!
Weighed - I think I was up a pound, but whatever at this point...
Blood pressure was a bit elevated, but I was running around like a crazy person at school this mporning (after about 4 hours of sleep) trying to get all the kids progress reports printed out, so it wasn't too bad...
Time for my appointment, got a check - still 3cm and 80% effaced - BOO! No more progress since 37 weeks, oh well...
Then we start talking fetal movement, and I told her that I barely felt him yesterday (yesterday, I had science fair all day, then Sam and her BF came into town - hung out with them, then I had to grade 165 chem tests, while trying to keep everyone entertained - and honestly, I really wasn't noticing him much cause I was so crazy busy, and stressed about getting everything done for the kids by today - needed to get their grades in the computer, print out progress reports for them...but, she didn't want to take any chances with not feeling him at this stage, so she sent me in for an NST...
That's when it got interesting...I knew that he was sleeping, cause he hadn't really moved all morning, and he only had one heart acceleration during the NST, so he failed (she said that it might be because he was sleeping, but it might be that the placenta is getting older or something was wrong - so she wanted to check on him just to make sure) - so, off I went for an ultrasound...oh, and before she left, she said that if he wasnt responding right on the U/S that they would induce today...
YIKES!
Called the sub, did I mention how wonderful she is - she totally saved my butt, and she took care of my class - which I was now late for, so I could make sure that baby was ok...
Anyway, he woke up right before the U/S started (I could tell and was very happy about this

), the lady who did the U/S was so wonderful, and pointed everything out about how he was practicing breathing, and using his lungs (she said that his lungs looked great!)...he was moving perfectly according to her and she showed me limb movements, body twists, and his head moving around...then he sucked his thumb - I loved every minute, and she explained how great he was doing...she also measured my fluid levels and they were perfect, and the placenta looked great also...his head was so low in my pelvis (everyone has commented on this, I swear, I waddle - HA!) she could barely get a head measurements, but she dug in, and the measurements showed that he was about 7 pounds (PERFECT!!)...oh, and she said that she thinks he's gonna be tall (but, of course

)...
So, I was able to leave, but boy was that ever a more exciting appointment then I had been expecting!!
Anyway, school is now done...lots of my kids from last year came in to wish me luck and everyone was just so sweet, it made me feel special, so that was really really nice...
I was at school till 4:30pm (school gets out at 2:40) with the sub explaining exactly how to teach the first section, going over the lab for it, and just talking about the kids...and, I got EVERYTHING - absolutely EVERYTHING - graded, and my progress reports turned in...
Then came home, since Sam and Nick are here, we were going to go to the planetarium, but I was tired, and they are really understanding, and are really big into cooking (I'm not but I love being cooked for

), and they had gone to the big local organic store, and gotten tons of stuff, so we made this amazing salad and organic vegetable dish with garlic and asparagus and brussel sprouts (super super healthy but also so so yummy!), then cut up pineapple and kiwi with dark chocolate, and made a fire (it is FREEZING here tonight!!), put the dining room table right in front of the fire, then got out the connect four, and just hung out and had a wonderful time!!
And, now I have 9 weeks off to relax a bit and catch up on some sleep, and just count down until the day I can meet my little boy, and then get to know him...I'm so so happy that its finally almost here
