Well yesterday evening I was having contractions that were coming every 5-7 minutes. I tried to hydrate and rest and lay flat. That didn't work so I called the Dr. He had me go to L&D for evaluation. The Dr did a sono to check my cervix because of the placenta previa he couldn't do a vaginal exam. He also did a fetal fibronectin test which came back this morning negative. The sono looked good and Kennedi was 1 pound and 12 ounces in weight and measuring right. I am anemic and they talked having to give a blood transfusion after an iron workup on friday. They started fluids and gave me terbutaline. It slowed the contractions, but the Dr wanted me to stay the night. I did and between 2 and 6:50 this morning I didn't have a single contraction. Then right when the Dr was getting ready to send me home I started having contractions every 3 minutes. He did another injection of terbutaline and started me on oral terbutaline. I had to show that I wasn't going to contract this afternoon before they could send me home. I still have them but not as frequently. He sent me home on the meds and bedrest untl further notice. I had a feeling that at some point in time this was going to happen i just didn't think it was going to happen this early. I'm nervous and scared. I'm praying that she stays put! i go back friday for a follow up.

That's scary, Amanda. I hope, hope, hope that the terb does the trick and let's Kennedi bake for a few more months. What did your job say when you told them you're out of commission for a while?

aww how scary!! the terb is a great drug and should really help! I had it at 30 weeks and helped stop mine. HUGS! T&Ps that Kennedi decides to stay put and bake!

thank you everyone for the prayers. Last night i continued to have a few contractions but nothing in a pattern. The medications make my heart race and i feel jittery all the time. It;s all worth it to keep her in there though. I slept so hard because i was so exhausted from the hospital and tests. Kennedi really hated the monitors and kicked them constantly. She's staying active so far today. Everyone at work was really understanding. They all came by and visited me. I think everyone knew this was coming. I started contracting at 18 weeks we were all just hoping I'd hold out longer.
