Silly question...I'll be 39 weeks tomorrow. And for a few hours now today I've been having mild cramping that extends into my lower back. I haven't had an internal or DTD and haven't experienced this before. Is this just par for the course this late into pregnancy or does it mean that labor is shortly around the corner?

ETA: They aren't timeable, just a constant dull achiness/cramping

Thanks ladies!

It really sounds like you are gearing up for that baby - hope that it is for real

LOL, I think you stole my labor vibes...I haven't had hardly ANY cramping or contracting at all recently (speaking of which - off for a walk)

cramping that wraps around your back is a contraction. I would just keep an eye on them. Have you had enough water? This could be the early sign of labor, which is why you should monitor what's going on.

woo hoo!! SOMEONE is having action hahaha....(I'm just jealous that I didn't go into labor on my own, don't mind me hehe)

My early contractions felt just like that...but they weren't terribly painful so I questioned whether they were even contractions....felt like bad AF cramps...and weren't coming in "waves". Hoping this is it for you...sending you lots of ELVS!

Thanks ladies! I hope this is it for me too that it will be in the next few days. I had an appointment scheduled for tomorrow with my doctor but it got moved to this afternoon, so he did an internal (and oh my goodness, I just about crawled off the bed in extreme pain). He said I'm thinning and that baby is very low. I don't think he said I'm dilated any though (truth be told, I was in such shock from the pain, I can't really remember what he said). Will keep you all posted

Tonya - I'm thinking of you!! Hopefully you get some action happening in the next few days!

Glad something is happening down there for you - at least the start of something happening - right

I have a DR appointment tomorrow morning, and I'm going to be pretty insistent that they help me ummm, encourage him to come out...IDK, I was really patient through 39 weeks, but this week, just sitting around, I'm not patient at all!

I had lots of cramping in the last few weeks, and lost my plug right around 39 weeks. I hope this is it for you! I ended up having to be induced at 41 weeks because my little guy just wasn't coming on his own. Your LO will be here VERY soon!!
