First of all I would like to say sorry for being MIA lately. Between my nesting frenzy and work I have been super busy. Everything is completely ready for baby now though. Such a relief. Anyway, yesterday at work I was having a ton of back pain and it would frequently radiate to my lower stomache even at rest. At one point I felt like I had wet my pants a little. I talked to my charge nurse at work and everyone wanted me to go to the hospital (my hospital doesn't have L&D). I really didn't feel like this was it, but since I had some fluid I called Jeff who came to pick me up and off we went. They hooked us up to the monitor where immediately you could see some contractions. The baby was super active the whole time. This LO is not a fan of dopplers, monitors, etc., LOL! They did a vag exam and there was no fluid. They did the exam without any jelly because that could have given false results, OUCH! They said it was probably just a lot of secretions which was what I was kind of thinking anyway. I was only dilated one cm and a wiggle as the RN said. My cervix is still long and thick and they could not feel the baby's head during the internal exam. I felt really silly going in because I knew it wasn't real labor but everyone keeps saying since I was having what I thought was fluid it was good to come in anyway. My contractions were actually picking up as we were leaving which made me feel better. I'm glad my body is making some progress even if it is slow. I have my next Dr. appointment on Tues. so we'll see how it goes. I work this weekend so hopefully all that walking will get things going.

yay for some progress! It's better to be safe than sorry! I was apparently leaking small amounts of fluid so at 38 weeks I was really low....looking back now, what I thought was just normal CM for end of pregnancy was actually amniotic fluid.

hope you make more progress this weekend for your appt on Tuesday

I agree, no reason to feel silly for going in! Glad to hear you are 1 cm, that's the start of things happening. I can't wait to find out what you are having!

Have a great weekend - even though it sounds like you will be working

Glad everything is OK Casey! Good thing you went in, even if you felt silly (isn't that the womanly way? Always apologizing for everything LOL)

I hope that means progress for you! (But not before Tonya LOL)

Hoping you get some progress soon! I know what you mean about feeling silly. I HATE being the patient and always put off going if I can. But I read that on average a woman goes to the hospital at least 3 times in false labor before the real thing. So you're better than average already! LOL! I hope he/she comes soon so we can confirm our suspicious!

I will do my best to hold the baby in till yours comes! I think I have at least another week or two. I will be surprised if Kaiden isn't here by Monday especially with all the walking you're doing!

The end is the worst, but you are almost there! I can't believe you are still working, good for you! I would never be able to do it.

Hang in there. Very soon you will have your little one in your arms and it will all be worth it.
