I must confess! I have been watching far too much "I didn't know I was pregnant" lately. So now that I'm getting further along I'm terrified that I won't know what contractions feel like or that I won't know when I'm going in to real labor. So all these women on there seem to have to take a big crap and end up "pooing" out a baby! So my confession is....I'm terrified to poo! Because of the stupid iron pills and anemia I've been dealing with constipation (which I was never regular to begin with so this makes it extra worse!) So everytime I get that feeling I'm like OMG what if its not constipation like these women thought and I have my baby in the toilet! TMI ahead.... I had that feeling again this morning but luckily it was just massive diarrhea and no baby! So there's my confession for the day! That's all....

LOL Carla - that show is just way too addictive

My instructor for my prenatal class told me, when you're in pre-labour, it feels kind of like a bad period - so maybe like constipation. But when you reach 4cm and start going into full labor, you won't be able to TALK. It will be more than obvious. Don't worry, I'm sure you'll know when baby is about to arrive!

That made me laugh! That's for bringing a smile to my face on this Friday afternoon! But you are right, they ALL think they need to poo and then they just give birth! Its crazy!

Carla you seriously crack me up! I think all of us JM girls are so in tune with our bodies we will definately know. I don't know if this will help or not but my doc gave me a script for some prenatals that have a stool softener. Maybe that could help.

You and me sound the same Carla...I know what you feel like every time I get that feeling I'm like...ugh this has to be a big poo... (also on iron, also constipated, also IBS) lol!!! Anyway, I also am worried I won't know what they really feel like...all the girls here have said...when it happens you'll know...I Hope they are right.

You are too funny!

However, I was the same way before having Meg, I had no idea what to expect and worried I'd mistake labor for something else. I'm not sure about other people but for me, when I finally went into labor I KNEW I was in labor - maybe not the first several hours but by 5am I knew for sure, those darn contractions started feeling a lot different than period-like cramping. I went into labor on a Tuesday evening around 8pm and by 3am Wednesday I was beginning to realize it was the real deal. By noon I knew for sure.

Too funny! Let me put it this way. I too was terrified that I wouldn't know what real labor was like and all of the sudden this baby would come flying out. (Wouldn't that be nice lol) Trust me, you WILL know what real contractions feel like, there will be no mistaking it. When it comes time to push the LAST thing on your mind is pooping. ALL you want to do is get that baby out. I have a few girlfriends who pooped, a few (including myself) who didn't, and a few who have no idea. You will be fine!

If you're wondering if you are in labor or not, you probably aren't. Trust me, I was always wondering "Is that a contraction?" but when real labor came, it was unmistakable. I couldn't do anything but breathe during those contractions! When the time comes, you will know.

Awww....that was really funny, but it is definitely something to keep in mind! I've heard from numerous women who have had babies already that you will know without a doubt when you are in labor! And those women on that show are obviously very out of tune with their bodies and your aren't, so I think you'll be just fine!

Haha! Yeah I'm pretty sure I'll know when the time comes. That show just really throws me for a loop! I can't understand how you don't know you're pregnant in the first place, much less go through labor thinking you are constipated and look down and there's a baby! I just don't get it! I mean how in the world do you not know you're pregnant?! What do they think all that flipping and flopping around in their stomach is?! I'd definitely be seeing a dr if I felt all that I feel and somehow didn't click hey I'm pregnant!
