I woke up yesterday morning feeling terrible and it has continually gotten worse since then! I have a horrible sore throat, ear aches in both ears, and a massive headache! & to top it all off, it is mine and dh's 2 year wedding anniversary and I'm laid up on the couch feeling awful!

I called my Dr's office and they want me to take OTC meds for a few days and if it doesn't get better or gets worse they want me to come in the office! My regular checkup is scheduled for Wednesday anyways so that's good!

Anyways, what OTC meds did you take if sick while pregnant? They said that any Robitussin formula is fine, but I just get so nervous taking anything!

I had to take some mucinex NON-DM stuff at the beginning of my pregnancy (I think around 10 weeks or so). You can also take some tylenol. I had a list of stuff I could take and then I had the pharmacist at Wal-mart confirm it was OK for me to take. My mom made a small fuss about me taking medicine while pregnant. It's not like I was popping them like candy, as she made it sound. Dont be nervous about taking something that is OK and safe. I just made sure I only took it as needed and as long as I was getting better.

I hope you feel better! I was really lucky and never got sick while pregnant. You can call either your Dr. or any pharmacy and they will tell you the category of the drug while pregnant. (A,B,C,D)

I was able to take plain Sudafed. You can't take the stuff with any extra ingredients though. The safest thing to do is ask the pharmacist while you are at the store.

Happy anniversary! I'm sorry you're sick though!! I had the swine flu toward the beginning of my pregnancy and was MISERABLE! I constantly took Tylenol to keep my fever down. I tried so hard to find other medicine that was safe but was paranoid. The only thing I felt comfortable with was Children's Triaminic. lol.

Feel better soon!!

I am not sure Tiffany...I am like you, and nervous about taking anything, so have been avoiding everything and thankfully *knock on wood* haven't been sick this pregnancy...

Either way, I hope you are feeling better soon! Being sick sucks, especially on your anniversary.
