I was talking to the girl who runs my prenatal classes today, and she is friends with one of the local midwives... She had talked to them before about getting me in, but I hadn't heard anything.

Well I heard from her today. I HAVE A MIDWIFE!!!!

Oh I am so unbelievably excited! I get to have my Abby hospital or home birth, whatever I feel most comfortable with, and as little medical intervention as I want. And my family doc said he's even going to keep monitoring my pregnancy so that if I DO end up higher risk, and have to come back to him, he knows my pregnancy in and out still!

YAY!!

You all know how scared I was of the local hospital... I am so relieved and excited that this finally worked out!!! WOOT!

That's fantastic! I'm horribly scared of the hospital as well! I practically "lived" in a hospital on and off all my childhood life.

Didn't your dh want you to give birth at a hospital, did he change his mind?

Thanks girls! Lee Ann, he does want me to give birth at the hospital, but this midwife has hospital privileges at the ONLY hospital I would even consider going to, and that is because they are very midwife friendly, and its a hospital birthing center - not a L&D unit.

He might change his mind though, you never know. There is still time.
