Did you buy or rent? I have found it is SO MUCH cheaper to buy. I just purchased one on amazon, $69 shipped with u/s gel. I can't wait to try it. It is a 3mhz and is supposed to pick up between 8-10 weeks. By the time i get it I should be 9 weeks. Can't wait to play with it...i think this is the only thing that will keep me sane until my 20 week appt !!

There is a JMer who lives in my home town and is 37 weeks... she bought a doppler and has offered to let me borrow it. I have not decided yet if I am going to do it (who am I kidding I will most likely borrow it). So I will only need to buy gel!

Here's what i'm thinking. My SIL has one...but she is also probably pregnant right now (i hope so anyway). And so we'll both need one at some point at the same time. Plus i plan on having more babies along the way so i figure this is a great investment if i have three. That's $23 per kid. Compared to 45/month to rent the stupid things i say YES!!!! If it was my last, i'd just borrow my SILs. Michelle that is great!! I'd DEFINITELY want it...you and i both know where we're coming from here. Extreme paranoia!! Don't you wish that would just go away so we can enjoy ourselves.

I wanted one but I was trying to remain as calm as possible and I kept thinking a doppler would just make me more obsessive-compulsive. Sounds like a good buy though....I didn't even realize they were that inexpensive.

I bought one at 10 weeks and I have used it almost everyday since. It was 100 dollars but well worth it in the long run. I've been so scared this whole pregnancy and it has really given me the peace of mind that i needed to get through everyday. DH says it's the best 100 dollars he's ever spent!

I bought a HiBeBe brand off of ebay and have never had trouble finding my LO.

I rented, but I should have just bought. I used it from week 10 until I felt movement pretty often....maybe 20 weeks?

I bought the Angelsounds doppler at around 9 weeks, and loved it! It picked up the HB right away and it was nice to be able to listen to it every once in a while!

I definitely think that buying it is the way to go...I got the Hibebe at 9 weeks (though I didnt hear his h/b until 12 weeks cause my uterus was way far back)...
it totally kept me sane when he wouldnt kick enough or I was feeling worried for any reason...

I rented mine, and FYI you don't have to use the gel, you can just use lotion
