Connor had his 2 month check up today.

He is 24 inches long (tall like his daddy )!! But, he's only 10 lbs 2 oz. (which is less than the 3rd percentile for his height) The pedi says he for sure has reflux which is probably why he such a skinny little thing. We are starting him on Zantac three times a day. Hopefully he will start feeling so much better (and sleep better too, mom needs some rest). Other than that everything is great. Oh, and he got his shots too But so far he is feeling okay.

Any BTDT moms with good reflux advice?

I'm sorry your lo has reflux, its definitely not easy to deal with. My lo has reflux. He was on zantac from when he was 1 month old till this past week and they switched him to prevacid (he was screaming non-stop again.) I had to cut all dairy out of my diet and that helped some. We also got this crib elevator and put it UNDER the mattress and that helped him sleep better. But he definitely doesnt SSTN. Safe Lift Deluxe Crib Wedge - Dex Baby Products - Babies "R" Us
We also hold him upright for at least 20 mintues after he nurses. We even prop him up for diaper changes if he just nursed. My lo had the opposite weight issue, he gained a lot fast because he was nursing all the time to help the burn (which is why he gets up a few times a night to nurse). It had gotten better until this past week. The pedi said sometimes when they get bigger the zantac isnt enough - just a heads up for when that time comes, we werent sure what was wrong. If you have any other questions or need anything let me know. I'm sure others may be some help as well!

Thanks Jodi! I appreciate the advice. It's at least good to know that something was wrong and that it wasn't my parenting that had him so fussy all the time.

I was wondering how high the crib wedge lifted off the mattress? The pedi wanted him at least 30 degrees which is kind of alot. So, I'm not sure if the wedge would be enough or not and wanted to check before I bought.

Oh my gosh I totally hear you on the parenting thing. We were going nuts wondering why he was crying all the time. Does he have colic also? I swear colic and reflux should not be allowed to happen together!

I'm not sure exactly how much it lifts it up, my lo is sleeping already but I can take a picture and post it for you tomorrow so you can see it. It definitely made a difference. He would scream as soon as we put him down before and now its not an issue!

I don't know very much about reflux I'm sorry. Try keeping him sitting up for atleast 30 minutes after he eats. (Which you probably already do) KUP on how he's doing!

Glad he's doing well (except for the reflex). I hope you're able to find ways to help him!
