I'll probably end up calling our public health nurse with this question as well, but.. I'm currently mainly breastfeeding/pumping but supplementing with formula for 2 feedings a day - how do I figure out how much Vitamin D drops to give my son? I know formula has some vitamin D, but since that's not his main diet, I don't want to overdo it or not give him enough. Does anyone know?
Did you ask this on the BFing board? They can give you good sources (I don't have the time to get them for you) but w/ adequate sunlight exposure, Vit D drops really aren't necessary. If you ask there, the ladies can help answer your question
I'm not sure either, the nurse may be able to help you. I am EBF and I don't give Billy any drops. I do take a vit d pill 2 times a day though and we get him outside everyday.. HTH!
