Kaiden has had a rough few days...
Just constantly screaming if he isnt eating, never just *content*...
Speaking of eating, he is eating about 10 times per day, both sides...eat/fuss/sleep for 30 minutes, eat again - repeat = no sleep for me...

But, he's always been good at night...until 2 nights ago...
He is super restless tossing and turning and kicking and grunting and moving a ton...
Now, he's been getting out of his swaddle also - and I wrap him TIGHT (w/Matt's help even to keep his arms down)...
He just moves too much...

Is this a growth spurt/?
Does anyone know how long it lasts?

What in the world do I do to keep him in the swaddle when he is moving around so much?
I seriously almost taped him in last night...

Also, he is 6 weeks on Monday...
He also just grew out of his newborn diapers, and is now in Size 1 (used the first size 1 this morning cuse he blew out 2 newborn diapers in a row)

Sounds like a growth spurt!! Hunter's only lasted about 4 days and then it started to go back to normal. I was told in the hospital that growth spurts go by the 3's, 3-6days, 6 weeks, 3 months, 6 months etc.

I hope he gets better soon, it can be exhausting when they go through growth spurts!!

I don't know if the tape will hold Tonya....I made a contraption last night made of slinky's to keep a bird from roosting on our back ledge and although it worked....when the bird hit it, the tape was disturbed and came off. I'm thinking Kaiden might be able to fenagle his way out of that tape.

Do you know any boyscouts? Maybe they could show you some good knots. OR you could just tie him up in ribbon and he could be like a little present each time you see him

(i'm just kidding of course...good luck!)

are you using swaddle me blankets or just receiving blankets? Bella always got out of me just swaddling her in a receiving blanket, but not the swaddle me's.

Sounds like a growth spurt..poor mama!! How about pumping and having Matt help with a feeding? It might help your psyche a bit!

It is a 46" swaddling blanket...using Dr. Karps DUDU technique...
I have a miracle blanket with the velcro, might try that next (it was too big on him last time)...

I was thinking of pumping but he is eating so much, and sleepng so little that there is literally nothing to pump...I pumped like 1/2 oz last night, thats all I had...

the velcro will help! He probably fits in it now, if you tried it when he was a newborn.

hmm, I don't know much about BF since I EP and FF. Sorry I can't help with this! I really hope it passes soon for you!

DITTOOOO the Swaddle me blankets. Ky was a small baby and still wiggled out of regular receiving blankets. I'd definitely recommend the Kiddopatomas swaddlers.

In regards to the pumping- maybe you could try pumping after your morning feed since you have more milk in the morning? Or only feed him one side and pump the other all day.

I'm sorry if I am not more help Kylar is actually going through some similar restless, toss/turn sleep issues and it's no fun. It is probably a growth spurt or could also be tummy issues. Is he gassier than normal?

Trying that once he gets out of the swing - he's been awake for a full hour just staring out the window, weird...
Anyway, I have a velcro one here...
Was able to pump 1.5oz while he was in the swing, might feed him that now cause he seems less gassy w/Dr Brown bottles...

Erin-
He's been reflux king today, terrible amount...he's already on Zantac, so I dont think it is acid...he doesn't burp a ton, mostly spitup...
Hoping he will sleep after this...and then I will too

definitely sounds like a growth spurt and thinking back I remember the 6 week one being the hardest!! Billy actually did better when we stopped swaddling him. He has always stirred a ton and we found he spent a lot of time trying to get out of the swaddle instead of sleeping. Hang in there you are doing a great job.

It's so weird how kids are SO different! Kylar started STTN when we started swaddling him! This whole parenting this is trial and error

he is so tired right now, hoping that means good things for tonight!!

Oh Tonya I'm soooo sorry! Paige had the colic AND reflux. We tried 3 different meds before I think she just grew out of it. Oh and OMG yes, she was the worst at wiggling out of those swaddles. I found the absolute only thing that worked was the Miracle Blanket...you order it online from BRU. It might be what you are talking about but mine didn't have velcro. Mine was just a big thing of material with a pocket type thing for legs. And you just wrap wrap wrap them up tight. It was the only thing that would calm her...that and the exhaust fan in the bathroom! Hope things get better hun. If the Zantac doesn't work go get a different meds.
