The blood test we had done last week after we were notified of the soft marker for Trisomy 18 has come back negative. Which means "normal" and that puts our risk level back to about 1/1200. I can live with those odds

Such a huge sigh of relief to have the results back. We will still go back for the second anatomy scan at the end of June to check if the cyst has gone away but for now I can stop worrying about T18 and move onto something else (I am sure there will be lots more worrying in the next 20 weeks).

Thank you for all the thoughts, prayers and reassuring words.

This is why i am glad I did the NT scan and sequential screening. I'm glad you're odds are VERY low! One less thing to really worry about!

I thought about that Kate. I wondered if I would have done the NT would it have made a difference and I don't think it would have. We would have still seen the cyst and had to think about what to do about it. It might have just made my slightly less concerned about it because if the NT had been "clean" then it would have been one thing pointing to no T18 rather than just the cyst point towards T18

I am just glad things all came out good and I don't really have to wonder what if.

Oh Michelle, I am so happy for you and the results.

And I can understand the relief you feel. I did do the NT scan and the two blood tests that go with it. And after finding the cyst at week 18 on the anatomy scan, while it was a little reasuring to know the NT scan was okay, I still couldn't help but worry. And then the day they called me to let me know the blood test came back normal, I felt a huge relief. Now I am waiting for my follow-up 2nd level u/s on the 17th. I think if that goes okay, then I can really stop thinking about it, and move on to worrying about something else, like you said we have plenty else to worry about!
