Has anyone experienced elevated hCG levels during the 2nd trimester screening (also think it is called the Quad screening)?

I did the bloodwork at 17 weeks and got the results from the doctor office a few weeks ago that everything was okay. 1 in 1200 for DS and 1 in 100,000 in Trisomy 18.

Well I went for my appointment today and the doctor told me that my hCG levels were elevated. She said it could cause growth problems in the later part of pregnacy. She said they will have me do another u/s at 28 weeks.

When I got home I checked the results from my test and the hCG levels during the 2nd trimester were hCG Mom: 2.44.

I can't find much about this online. Has anyone experienced this?

Thanks ladies. I was up late last night doing research and couldn't find too much info on it. Only that it could later cause complaications and preterm labor. I hate knowing that there could be problems, but deep down I feel that everything is going to be okay, I hope I am right.

Next week is our 2nd level u/s for them to followup on the chlorid plexus cyst, so hoping that will be all okay. And then 6 weeks after that will be the next u/s to check out the baby growth because of this new concern with the bloodwork. The doctor said to look at the postive side, that we get to see our baby more.
