For those of you who remember Connor wasn't gaining weight and had fallen from the 50th% to not even on the chart even though his height was staying in the 90th%. We ended up getting referred to a pedi GI/metabolic doc.
We had our appointment last week and the doc is 99% sure it's just the reflux. He started Connor on a second medication and upped the dose of the Zantac. We also got a nap nanny for him to sleep in and hang out in after feedings to keep him more upright (expensive but I found one on craigslist!).
Well in a week and a half he gained a WHOLE POUND!!! I cannot believe it. He's now in the 5th% and ON THE CHART

!
It seems to be working so we are very pleased. He's now sleeping so much better and waking up only 1-2 times a night to eat. And we are almost grown out of size 1 diapers

!
I took him today for his blood draw to recheck the liver enzymes (they were high last month due to malnutrition). The tech was great and he didn't even cry when they drew his blood. We have to schedule an upper GI test for sometime this month but it looks like things are getting better.
I am so relieved it wasn't something really serious and happy my little guy is growing finally.
And, of course I have to share some pics:
From last month (see how skinny his face is?):
These are recent (look at the weight progression!):
*UPDATE 6/12*
So, the pediatrician called to give us his lab results. It turned out his liver enzymes are still very elevated. They are in the 100's and they should be in the 30's. Although they are slightly lower, it shouldn't have taken them this long to go down since he has been gaining so well.
So, we are going to be going through more testing to find out what the problem is. First we are doing an upper GI. I have to make Connor go at least 4 hours without eating before the test so it's not going to be fun. I mean, how do you tell a baby they can't eat when they're hungry? Plus, I work in a hospital so I know how behind they can run sometimes on appointments. We are just waiting on insurance authorization to do the test. After we get those results we will go from there.
I just wish this was over already......
