Ok...so I went to the ER first thing Friday morning because I woke up with blood in my underwear and when I went to the bathroom there was more. They checked my cervix and took my blood. Cervix was closed and HCG levels were still rising. They put me on bedrest for the weekend and told me to come back Monday to get my levels checked. They told me I could be miscarrying, but they didnt know since none of the signs other than the blood were there. Well, I called my RE and they reassured me that things were prolly ok since I hadnt had any bleeding since and had no cramps and my levels going up were a good thing.
So, since then I have had only old blood when I wipe, which I am guessing is normal since I did bleed. And I have had a few cramps but they were very mild and I think mainly because I am constipated. So...being stuck in this limbo sucks!!! Did I miscarry? If not, what the hell happened? OMG!!
Thanks for the vent ladies...I am just so confused...any thoughts?

I know Jess (jessmitch) had something like this happen to her just last week. She just had unexplained bleeding. I hope its just a random bleed...you never really know, but that is kinda what it sounds like. I assume you're going to talk to your Dr again tomorrow to check in. Some people just bleed in the first tri and no one really knows why. Unless you get a LOT Of blood or cramps tonight then i'd just call your RE back in the morning to discuss what to do next. It sounds like it has pretty much stopped though, right?

Yeah I had "new" blood the one time Friday morning. I have had no new bleeding since then...just some old blood on the TP when I wipe and I have no cramping or anything either. I am just such a mess right now...I want answers! haha I will be calling our RE in the morning and talking about this weekend. I may request a blood draw tomorrow and then I have another U/S and draw Wed. that was already scheduled. But, Wed. is our anniversary so if I am getting bad news I would rather know before then, than get it that day.

Alicia, it really could be anything. Could be just an irritated cervix - which is not uncommon at all. Like Kate said, if there is no more new blood and no cramps I would call the dr in the morning and hopefully you will get sent for an ultrasound. You are far enough along to see a heartbeat and get some reassurance.

I will reassure you a bit with my experience. In my 4 miscarriages, once I started bleeding there was NO stopping it. They were all combined with heavy cramps as soon as the bleeding started too.

Hey! Like Kate said, i had something simliar going on with me last week, except it went on for almost a whole week! BUT, there was no clotting, no cramps and my temps continued to rise. I had a u/s last thursday which showed the yolksac, i'm going back thursday to hopefully hear the HB.

Did you have any clotting or just blood? I think as long as there was no clotting then you probably did not miscarry. KUP after you talk to your doc again!

I had the same thing happen when I was about 6 weeks with Amelia. I spotted off and on until about 9 weeks and then it stopped. I know a couple of other older grads that it happened to, too. My midwife told me it could have been blood that pooled around my cervix after implantation and it just was coming out. I had gone to the ER, too, and my cervix was closed and everything else was good. I bet it's something similar for you, Alicia. It is so scary and I think I was a constant TP checker my entire pregnancy. No one tells you that something like that could happen and things are okay. It scared the bejeezes out of me!! Hang in there! I think as long as your cervix is closed and your levels are rising, it's the same thing as what happened to me and other girls. (((hugs)))

I had no clotting at all. Just blood.

Anyways, I talked to my Dr. this morning and they seem pretty reassured that things are ok. Since I had no more red bleeding, and no major pains or cramps they dont seem too concerned. Have to wait till Wed for my U/S and blood draw to get a confirmation. Its going to be a long couple of days!

I had a blood clot that was high in my uterus...the sonographer found it via ultrasound at 10 weeks. Apparently it was from the blast burrowing in and the blood pooled. I was told that because mine was really high in my uterus that it would most likely be reabsorbed but that when the blood is closer to the cervix it will find it's way out and a person will experience bleeding....and that it is nothing to worry about....that is, if you know you have one.

You could be experiencing that, however you wouldn't know unless it was detected beforehand.

Yeah, I am thinking we prolly wont be getting a reason for why it happened, but as long as my LO is ok I am good with that. I am just praying for the best anniversary present ever on Wed!!!

Hi,
I wanted to tell you same thing happened to me last year. I started bleeding heavy red at 6 weeks and was diagnosed with threatened miscarriage. They said I had a 50/50 chance. After that the bleeding stopped and I spotted for a few days, and the baby was fine (I lost the baby much later for a totally unrelated reason).

Hang in there, I know how you feel. Hope it's just a scare and your bean is ok.

Thanks ladies. I had a small instance again last night. I had a tiny bit of spotting one time last night and now that is gone again as well. I had no cramping again. I just cannot wait for tomorrow to get here now. I need/want answers.

omg I'm just now reading this!! I'm sooooo sorry that you have gotten this scare. I'm praying that all is well tomorrow morning. I agree with the others that if you haven't had continued bleeding and cramping then you still have your LO in you!! I can't wait to hear the good news tomorrow morning!
