First off, reminder if anyone would like our blog link please let me know!
If you dont want to read our blog... heres an update for everyone. In short, we're doing great. Michael has had a ton of appointments after getting discharged and everything has ended up great.
First - PDA, all closed and no need for follow up. He has PFO but that will be no big deal as long as he doesnt want to be a scuba diver or fly fighter jets

In fact his pedi even has one
We've been to the pedi twice, the first when he was about 3 weeks (adjusted) right after getting discharged then again on the 10th. He said he's looking good in all aspects... gaining weight good, he was 10lbs then (and 10lbs 4oz yesterday), he would like him to gain a little more but i believe he's in about the 25th percentile so he's fine. My step daughter is just tiny in general so who knows he could end up like her. He got his four month shots and otherwise nothing to report on that aspect.
We also saw the eye doctor who's completely satisfied with the ROP surgery and said that is completely resolved. We have to watch and make sure his eyes tighten up so he doesnt have a lazy eye and in the fall we'll see a regular eye doctor to start monitoring him for if he'll need glasses.
Next came the urologist for his hydronephrosis (kidney dilation), she said theres nothing to be done about it right now and scheduled us for a renal scan and follow up appointment after that. In the meantime he's on antibiotics to make sure he doesnt get a kidney or bladder infection.
After that we saw some therapists that are part of our state run program. Michael saw a development specialist and occupational therapist (for feeding issues) who both said he doesnt qualify for the program right now. So, that would obviously mean he's progressing well developmentally for his adjusted age. He's gaining excellent control of his head, tracks well with his eyes, recognizes black, white and red, watches your mouth when you talk, social smiles etc etc etc... We're thrilled
Yesterday we went too see another high development specialist run by the hospital he was born at... that doc said he's great also. The only thing he told us is to watch to make sure his head isnt flattening on the right side since he favors that one. We do switch his head back and forth when we're awake but at night he's always on the right side...
And FINALLY, we also went to another urologist for his hernia (and circumcision), thats all still fine, the doctor is very pleased that its still soft and he's been able to put off his surgery until he's over 10lbs. He said babies who get them repaired before 10lbs often need to do it again at some point. Anyway, they'll schedule him for surgery soon. He'll spend one night in the hospital, mostly just to make sure he's okay with the anesthesia and after that point he'll just go for a follow up later to remove the steri strip. If he is able too he'll do the circumcision at the same time... if not he'll go back again later to get that done.
Needless to say i'm pretty sick of appointments but so far every thing is excellent so i'll keep going to as many appointments as i need to if they keep giving me good news!
