I know this question has been asked before but I searched for it and found very limited results.

For all of you who have purchased a jogging stroller (or know someone who has one) what would you recommend. DH and I know we want one but can not decide what is best.

We are currently looking at:
Baby Trend Expedition
Phil and Ted
BOB Revolution
Baby Jogger

But we can't seem to decide what we want to do. Is it worth the extra money to go with a higher priced jogging stroller vs the cheaper Baby Trend (in some cases twice the price or more)? I could not believe the difference in folded down size of the Phil and Ted vs Baby Trend. We want to use it for regular stroller needs (ie shopping, walks, etc) as well as running. DH is a runner (training for a marathon - probably half this year and full next year) and I have started to get into it as well so there will be actual jogging with it not just all-terrain walks.

Are there stroller review sites that you trust?

I tried them all out at a store and loved the BOB Revolution best, you may be able to get a cheaper one on Craigslist?...the newborn adapter (for the carseat) is insanely expensive but has really come in handy, we've been running with him since he was 2 weeks old...the newborn adapter only works with a limited number of carseats...it wasnt the carseat that I had, but I was able to get a Graco Snugride for $35 w/carseat adapter for the car (a great deal) on Craigslist and we actually use that carseat more than the one we were originally gonna use

Here is a pic...he's on a pillow cause we were just walking with him this time and its pretty darn secure...if we were running, we would have had him in the carseat strapped in...

I have a Joovy Zoom 360 and we LOVE IT. It glides like butter!!! We've only been walking with it...I got it onsale at Babies R US for just under $200 (they are normally $329). Worth every penny. It does not have a carseat adapter but we just lay Julie in it with a head support and she will go to sleep in it. What I like about it is that the front wheel can swivel or be fixed and it comes with a tire pump that attaches in the stroller basket so if you are away from home and the tire goes flat you are not out of luck....and with a rain shield.

Here is a pic of ours:

We got the BOB Revolution and can't wait to use it! Took us months to decide but it's the only one we'll be getting. It's not too big or ridiculous to take into stores and we do a lot of walking on trails outdoors. We also got the car seat adapter and the Graco Sungride 35 carseat.

My SIL has the BOB and I found really big and bulky. My mother in law wanted to buy one for us, but I opted for the smaller Baby trend. But neither of which i have ran behind (baby on the way). sorry, I know that probably wasn't much help...LOL

A friend of mine has the Baby Trend and she loves the stroller but hates the carseat part of it. The carseat is super heavy and her baby hates it. I picked it up once and was shocked at how heavy it was and can't imagine carrying it with a baby in there too! She said if she had to do it over again she definately would have got something else. Good luck finding the perfect stroller!

Thanks ladies! It is definitely an overwhelming decision to make but I am glad that we at least narrowed it down to jogging strollers - I can't imagine trying to choose if we had not started there.

I have a feeling we will go with the BOB and find a car seat that will work with it - likely the Graco Snugride. I will let you know what we decide in a couple weeks when we can get back out there shopping

The best thing we ever did was go to the store, ignore the price tags, and just start taking them down off the shelves and walking around with them. We ended up picking one by a Canadian company (NOT one of the big brand names) that was a) under $200, b) had inflated tires and a swivel/stationary front wheel, c) reclined almost fully, and d) could actually get through some of the tiniest aisles in the store while steering ONE HANDED.

It also folds easy enough that you could do it while holding baby, and unfolds with one hand (just grab the handle and lift.) Size wise, it is smaller than my sister's travel system when folded up - which is great, because even though we own a pickup truck, we didn't want the whole thing to be taken up by JUST the stroller!

I would say ignore brand names, prices, feature lists, and all of that at first. Just go in and take a whole bunch for a test drive. Once you've narrowed it down to a few that you actually like, THEN start looking at brands, prices, reviews, features, etc.

Because if the Baby Trend is the one that you actually like once you get to the store, that's great. If it ISN'T, and you go blow you stroller budget on it and then end up hating the thing... Well that isn't so great.

Good luck!
