I went for my 36 week appointment this morning! Fisher's heartbeat was great and I only gained 2 lbs. I am currently 1 cm dialated and 70% +2 effacement. The Midwife said if she had to guess that she predicted my baby boy will be here within the next 2 weeks! I'm excited that my body is progressing toward labor and would love to welcome my little boy into the world in a couple of weeks! I am getting so anxious to meet him!
On the downside, my blood pressure was elevated and there was protein in my urine. They ordered a 24 hour urine analysis, which I have to start Sunday morning and turn in Monday moring. I will also be getting some blood work done Monday and also going back in for a follow up appointment. They told me to be cautious of headaches, pain behind the ribs, and seeing spots. They also want me to monitor kick counts daily and if I have any of these issues or Fisher's movement slows down then I have to go in and have a NST done! Due to the protien, high bp, and swelling that I have been having, they are worried I could have pre-eclamsia. My mom had it when she was pregnant with me!
Please pray that everything turns out just fine and that my baby boy stays safe in there!
Also, I'd love to hear if anyone else has had any experiences with pre-e.
Thanks ladies!

Erin (etph007) had pre-e and delivered at 36 weeks (she had symptoms for weeks before that though). She is a great person to talk to about that.
crossing my fingers everything goes well! Just a few more days and you're considered full term!!

i had to do a baseline 24 hour urine collection b/c i've had high BP from teh beginning. I'm medicated now so its under control but i so hope neither of us end up with Pre-E. The good news is that you're so close to the end that you hopefully should just be able to have them if you have complications and you won't have to do tons of yucky bed rest. Good luck Tiffany!

My bp was elevated (borderline high) at my 37 week appointment and then back to normal at my 38 week appointment. But I didn't have any other issues so the office wasn't too concerned by the one reading.
Hope everything comes back well. Will be thinking about you.

Thanks ladies! I'm praying that everything is just fine! It does give me comfort knowing that he will be just fine if it comes to having to take him early!
Thanks for your positive thoughts and prayers!

Hey! I did the 24 urine protein several times and wasn't spilling any protein in my urine until the very end and my blood pressures were consistently getting worse. My pre-e was severe though, causing IUGR (basically, the blood vessels were so restricted that my LO wasn't getting properly nutrients, like drinking from a coffee straw, explaining why he was anly 4 lbs). Most pre-e is resolved upon delivery and doesn't lead to any IUGR. If you do, in fact have the pre-e, they may induce you and upon delivery you may be put on magnesium sulfate which is pretty yucky but will help your pressures come down. I ended up with an emergency c/s and was on mag 24 hrs and BP meds for 3 months but hopefully yours won't come to that. As long as your baby is growing fine, I am sure he will be fairly close to full term even if they did have to induce. Best of luck to you! Make them keep a close eye on it! I am sending you lots of healthy dust!!!

Scary! I've been having some swelling myself but I think it is mostly the heat, thankfully my BP is always excellent and no protein
Hope everything comes back OK, and definitely glad to hear that you're only worrying about this now at 36 weeks - chances are, he'll come on his own before it becomes a real worry anyway!
Good luck hunnie!

Thanks for your kind thoughts ladies and Erin, thank you for sharing your story! I'm sorry you had to go through that, but so glad that your little boy was just fine! I've been having headaches for a couple weeks now and didn't realize that it was due to my elevated BP! I went to the L & D earlier this evening as my headache got really bad and the MW wanted to check my BP! It was a little higher than earlier today, but I had been moving around and out and about! She told me to come home and lay on my left side, take tylenol, and drink lots of fluids for a couple of hours and she wants me to check my bp again! She said to call if it goes above 140/90. I'm going to rest and take my bp around midnight! I'm praying it has come down and that everything is okay!
