For those of you that have babies with reflux, at what point did you contact the doctor?

Julie occaisonally spews basically her whole bottle through her mouth and nose. She's done it about 6-7 times total so far since birth. She just did it and was upright the whole time after feeding. I've taken her to the doctor after the first two times she did it (starting at 2 weeks) and he said it happens....I just don't like it.

yikes. Josie spits up almost every time I feed her, but it's not much. I'm not much help I'm afraid, but I hope the doc looks at it for you!

Billy has bad reflux and at almost 7 months is still on his meds. He went on them when he was 1 month old. He was projectile vomitting almost everyday and sometimes more than one time a day; it was most of what he had just nursed also. If you are concerned I would contact your pedi again (even if its just for a weight check) to be sure all is well! Good luck and if you have any other questions PM me!

kaiden is poltergeist...he was on zantac then prevacid until 3 months...then i kinda weaned him off them...the meds dont effect how much they spew, just if it is acidic, it makes it less uncomfortable...

he still pukes all over the placeevery day...i got an incliner for him to sleep on...for him, if i keep him laying down (only slightly inclined) after feeding, he pukes a LOT less than if i burp him and keep him upright...

When shes doing it, is it breast milk, formula, or a mixture of both? Does she seem distressed at all when she does it? Is it possible to lessen the amount you give her then give her a bit more soon after.

She doesn't seem distressed at all...she seems relieved. We notice it happens more when we can't get a burp out of her. This doesn't seem anywhere near what Jodi and Tonya experinced though as it is not an everyday thing. She'll do it maybe twice in a 12 hour period and then it won't happen again for a week.

She is being fed a mixture of formula and bm. We have a baby scale and she is gaining weight so I don't think there is an issue there. We do feed her smaller amounts and bm only after an episode but it doesn't last long. After she spewed yesterday, we gave her 2oz bm....she slept for a few hours and then got 2oz of formula. Then an hour after that @ 7pm all the way up until 11 she ate a total of about 8 ounces combined...I guess she was making up for getting jipped....but she didn't spew any of that.

The doc said this would happen but I just didn't know at what point it becomes an issue. Compared to others, it i minimal.

Connor has reflux and we didn't start meds until he was uncomfortable with it and not gaining weight.

Babies spit up. It has to do with the way their stomachs are positioned and the fact that they eat an all liquid diet. If she doesn't seems distressed by it, or it's not causing other problems (poor weight gain, dehydration, lung issues, etc), then it's probably nothing to worry about.
