On how to deal with M/S when you have family get togethers? I am going to the lake with my family for the 4th and I am dreading the Morning Sickness/All day sickness. Ugh...

Thankfully I didn't have a lot of morning sickness. I found that to keep the nausea at bay I had to eat something at least every 1.5 hours. I've been eating lots of fruit 'cause it's a portable snack.

Mine seems to be most in the AM (it has FINALLY gotten better after week 21). If i were you and its bad, i'd just call your dr and see if you can get an rx. I waited until 13 weeks for Zofran and as soon as i took one i felt instantly better. It is AMAZING stuff.

But since its this weekend most people swear by carbs, dont' drink too much too fast either. And try and stay out of the heat.

I felt pretty rotten from about 9:00 am until 5:00 pm every day and only slightly rotten before and after those times during my first trimester. I found that ginger helped me. I ate a ton of ginger tea frozen into ice cubes. Staying hydrated helped too. I know some people swear by crackers, but the thought of anything dry like that make me gag. I ate a lot of cold cereal with milk.

i second the dry crackers. I was gonna puke regardless and i figured i'd rather not puke up paste. NOT COOL!! The first time i almost choked i was done with the crackers.

I agree with Kate, that Zofran worked wonders for morning sickness! Another thing that helped me were preggie pops! They make them in little hard candies and they taste really yummy!
I hope it gets better soon, I remember those days and they aren't pleasant!

I agree with Kim that I had to eat practically all the time to keep the nausea away. At work, my desk was lined with snacks and I would work my way from left to right my co-workers used to come and survery what I was eating that day haha!

I agree to try and stay out the heat as well. Do your friends know your are pregnant?

The crackers (unsalted) work for me so far. I can understand about the pastiness though. Would never eat them otherwise. If I have 2 crackers and some water when I'm nauseous it seems to go away (so far - it's early though!!). Good luck! It's been hard for me at work, because I guess I look pretty dreadful, and I don't want to tell people until August. Sometimes I wish I could just tell everyone and be done with it! I'm terrible at secrets.

I came extremely close to cancelling our Vegas trip (it was booked before I got preggo) because of my M/S. I had on the pressure point wrist bands, was sipping ginger ale, nibbling on crackers, and sucking on preggie pops! I ALMOST threw up on the plane, but somehow managed not to. I would just take it easy, drink TONS of water, and try and stay cool.

I hope that your trip ends up going well! I had night sickness so preggo pops, and drinking water was what helped me.

Thanks ladies!! I was out there yesterday and did alright. I drank a TON of water and ate pretzels most the day and they seemed to help. Also just sucking on freezy pops helped. Anyways, I made through yesterday alright and am hoping today goes the same! Thanks again!
