Hey girls, quick question...

I just lost a little piece of my mucus plug on Saturday night (at least, from what I've read, that is what it was...) Kind of looked like a dime-sized booger LOL

ANYway, I was wondering... I've read that labor usually starts within 2-3 weeks of beginning to pass the mucus plug, but sometimes it may take as long as 4 weeks... If you lost your mucus plug before labor started, how long between the first bit you noticed losing and when you started getting real contractions?

Thanks!

well I lost mine at 21 weeks....thankfully didn't go into labor. It grew back.

After my MW stretched and sweeped my membranes, I lost bits and pieces of my new mucus plug (aka bloody show- bloody mucus) the following 2 days. Contractions started 3 days later and DS was born 4 days later from when I started loosing my plug.

I started losing bits and pieces of my plug about 6 weeks ago, but like Lindsey said and my dr. said the same thing, it keeps replacing itself...just like snot in your nose! So, unfortunately it isn't a reliable sign that labor will be starting anytime soon!

I know exactly how you feel, just don't want you to get your hopes up! I've been getting all kinds of "signs"that this little man is coming and yet he's still not here...lol! I'm learning that no matter what "signs" your body gives you, they will come when they are ready and not a moment before!
She will be here before you know it! Good luck hun!

I lost mine at 40 weeks for 2-3 days, but still had to be induced at 41 weeks. You're really close Cheryl! :exicted:

Well even if it isn't a true sign of labor, I'm still jealous because we've got nada going on over here Not a cramp, not a tinge of pink, no vag boogers

I lost mine about a week before, but there was a TON of it. Once I had my bloody show I went into labor a couple of hours later. Good luck!

Paula - oh, don't be *too* jealous... Add the cramps and backpain that kept me up all night last night at 35 weeks, and you end up with a worried momma that won't stop repeating "just 10 more days, hold on for 10 more days" to her belly! LOL

At least I still feel her moving so I know she's OK It is SO hard not to tell hubby when my BH get painful though... I haven't lost any more of my plug, but MAN I had a couple of doozy contractions this morning as he was leaving for work! But if I had told him, he would have made me call the midwife or go to the hospital and not left, and he would have ended up missing a day of work for nothing LOL

*sigh* Just 10 more days, then she can come any time she wants and I won't have to go to the hospital! At least, not for sure. Although that contraction this morning made me 2nd guess my decision on going natural LOLZ

Yea unfortunately it's not a sure sign that baby is coming anytime soon. I remember still getting excited when i lost parts of mine though. I started losing some WEEKS before anything started happening. Hopefully she won't wait too long to meet you!
